P.S. You and your camera take beautiful pictures. What kind of camera were you using?
Wow, we were practically neighbors! Did you feel the ship moving as much as we did? Craziness at times! It was definitely an amazing trip though, we probably won't go again for a couple of years but we're already looking forward to the next one! We're contemplating trying for Alaska in 2016 if they are still sailing there at that time.

Vivek really was such a sweetheart! We were always running into him in the halls and he would ask us how our day had been or tell us to enjoy dinner, etc.

Thanks so much for the sweet picture comment, I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ20. I haven't had it that long and am still learning how to use all the settings. A nice man I met when I was trying to take some pictures of a pretty non-existent sunset actually gave me a quick tutorial in some of the manual settings! People can be so nice!

I hope you enjoy the rest of my report. I took a break from it today to spend some time with my husband on his day off, but I'll be back at it tomorrow!

We definitely were rocked to sleep the first six nights. The last night I woke up at midnight and it felt like the ship was about to tip over.

After our delicious brunch we rolled ourselves back to the room to change clothes and attend the shopping seminar in the Buena Vista Theatre.

Mickey touches in the seats and in the carpet.

I have mixed feelings about the shopping seminar. It was informative, we weren't sure what we might want to buy in port so we went just to get an idea of what was out there. It ran a little long for me but I think part of my problem was the seats in the BVT recline when you sit in them, and that makes trying to look at the stage, plus all the pamphlets you're given at the beginning kind of hard. In order to not recline you had to forcibly sit up straight and it just wasn't really comfortable to me. It probably would have been great for watching a movie.

I was also interested in getting the cruise ship charm that they were giving away for attending, but I ended up disappointed in that too. We had to stand in line for nearly an hour after the seminar because they took so much time with people wanting the VIP passes, which was great for those people, but I just wanted the charm. A separate line for people just wanting the charm would have been nice, maybe someone standing at the exit handing them out and directing you to the other line if you wanted the VIP passes also. Then after all of that the plating on my charm chipped off before the cruise was even over, and one of the charms I got from Diamonds International won't fit on the bracelet because the opening on the clasp isn't wide enough.

We had planned to see the matinee showing of Aladdin, but after standing in line so long we missed about 20+ minutes of it, so we just skipped it and went back to the room for awhile. We started to watch Brave but both of us fell asleep. When we woke up I did my hair and makeup for formal night and we went down to the theatre to see our regular showing of Aladdin. This show was just alright to us too. I think it would have been a lot better had they not made the Genie so over the top corny. I love a stupid joke, but his were just not good for the most part and he came off as obnoxious and annoying. Other than Genie we liked it, the magic carpet ride segment was my favorite, I'd love to take a spin on that thing!

After the show we went back to the room to don our formal attire then proceeded to the atrium for pictures. Lines were outrageous when we got there. This was the exact reason I had wanted to see the matinee of the show so we could get in line for pictures earlier. We ended up only being able to get the grand staircase in our formal wear because after 40 minutes in line it was time to go to dinner. This was a lesson learned for sure, and later in the week when it was time for semi-formal night we stuck to the plan, matinee show, early for pictures, and we got every location we wanted in less time than it took to get that one picture on formal night. At least we did get one good one though.

Our dinner tonight was in Enchanted Garden, such a lovely restaurant. Our table wasn't in the best location here though, it was in a back corner right next to one of the serving stations, and really the only problem with that was it was hard to get in and out of if you were the ones sitting in the middle or next to the station because it was so enclosed. One of the couples at our table was at Palo that evening so we had a nice time getting to know the other couple a little better.

I thought the chairs were so cute with their hot air balloon design.

Then the beautiful flower lights that bloomed during dinner.

Cruise 2013 471 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Bread service was Multi Grain and Country Currant Rolls with Chickpea-Garlic Puree. So yummy!

Cruise 2013 458 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Brian and I both had a Summer Leafs Cocktail ~ Rum, Pomegranate, Peach Schnapps, Cranberry Juice, Soda Water. Pretty tasty.

Cruise 2013 463 by princessm112877, on Flickr

I can't recall exactly what my first appetizer was but it was kind of like a quiche, it had leeks, mushrooms and bacon in it. It was quite good.

Cruise 2013 467 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Brian had the Lobster Ravioli

Cruise 2013 468 by princessm112877, on Flickr

I had the Romaine Wedge for my soup/salad course ~ Fresh crisp Romaine topped with a creamy Romano Dressing and homemade spiced Croutons. Brian had tomato soup but I didn't get a picture of it for some reason.

Cruise 2013 469 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Marjoram Scented Organic Chicken ~ Half a Chicken served with Baked Sweet Potatoes and Sautéed Baby Spinach (I got regular mashed potatoes instead of sweet). This was also very tasty, it was a huge portion though and I couldn't finish it.

Cruise 2013 473 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Brian had Slow Roasted Prime Rib, Thyme-roasted Vegetables, Double-baked Potato, Horseradish, and Natural Jus.

Cruise 2013 474 by princessm112877, on Flickr

For my dessert I had the Sweet Temptations ~ Strawberry cheesecake, Esterhazy Cake, and Sacher torte. I really liked all three of these.

Cruise 2013 475 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Brian had the Bananas Foster Sundae

Cruise 2013 476 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Then they brought out another plate of goodies to share, passion fruit gelee, and chocolate truffles. Both were good but I had already had too much to eat so I just had one of each to try them.

Cruise 2013 477 by princessm112877, on Flickr

After dinner was over we went back to the room and changed (seems like we did a lot of changing today), then went up to Currents for a little while. Brian had a beer, and I had a glass of Moet & Chandon Ice. It started to rain so we just stayed there for a bit and chatted with a couple of the bartenders. Baboo in particular was really great, a lot of stories to tell and always remembered you when he saw you again. The rain began to let up a little bit so we decided it was time to make a dash for the elevator so we could get back down to the Walt Disney Theatre to see the Adult Ventriloquist show with Lynn Trefzger. We laughed our butts off, she was great.

We went down to La Piazza after the show to check out the snacks. I really don't know why, we were so beyond stuffed. We still managed to find room for some more olives and chicken nuggets though. We walked it off on deck 4 and then went back the room. Brian started watching Man of Steel while I wrote in my trip journal.

Our towel animal tonight was a dinosaur! A brontosaurus perhaps?

Cruise 2013 478 by princessm112877, on Flickr

I know it probably seems like I did a lot of complaining about things today, but they were just observations and lessons learned. It was our first cruise and now that I know how certain things work I'll be sure to do them differently next time. We still had a wonderful day!

Hi, I'm loving your report! Your dress on formal night was just simply gorgeous. You rocked it! I don't think you sound like you're complaining too much. Just seems like you're being honest about the crowds so us newbies know what's to come. Can't wait to read more....

Thanks for joining in everyone!

Susan121302 ~ Thanks so much for the compliment on my dress. Not bad for $39 from Burlington Coat Factory! I couldn't believe how hard it was to find a floor length "gown" in a plus size!

Day 3/Part 1

My morning got off to a very early start. I did not sleep well at all, I was beginning to get some sinus drainage and it was just driving me insane. I didn't get to sleep until around 1 am and was up again by 5. I decided to just get a shower and try to catch the sunrise.

There was a lot of cloud cover still so the sunrise was pretty non-existent, but it was so peaceful up on deck and the cool breeze felt wonderful. Even with all the joggers up and about on deck 4 it was still amazingly quiet.

Cruise 2013 497 by princessm112877, on Flickr

After just basking in the morning for awhile I headed back to the room and found Brian up and watching the rest of Man of Steel. Once the movie was over we headed up to Cabanas to get some breakfast.

Cruise 2013 526 by princessm112877, on Flickr

I loved the seagulls, they were so cute!

Cruise 2013 521 by princessm112877, on Flickr

I was a little disappointed that they didn't have those amazing little sausage links this morning, but copious amounts of bacon made up for it. I love these hashbrowns too (a guilty pleasure a few times a year at home) but found them to be a bit dry at times on the ship. I really loved all the fresh fruit that was available too.

Cruise 2013 516 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Brian decided he wanted a cappuccino after breakfast so we headed over to the Cove Cafe. This is a really pretty little space, very quiet and would have been a great spot to sit and read.

Cruise 2013 555 by princessm112877, on Flickr

I loved the colors used in the decor.

Cruise 2013 557 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Cruise 2013 559 by princessm112877, on Flickr

We hung out for a little while near the adult pool and just enjoyed some peaceful relaxation.

Cruise 2013 566 by princessm112877, on Flickr

The sitting areas around the adult pool were really nice and comfortable. We never felt it was very crowded any time that we were up there, which admittedly wasn't a lot so it's possible we just caught it at the right times.

Cruise 2013 563 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Cruise 2013 558 by princessm112877, on Flickr

We decided we should get up and get moving again before we fell asleep. So we continued on exploring the pools, fast food spots and water play areas. Then made our way up to Goofy's Sports Deck. We were going to play miniature golf but the wind really picked up and it began to rain, so we headed back indoors.

The Flo's area was so cute, it wasn't open yet when we were up there but I loved the signs, adorable.

Back inside we went to Shutters to check out our formal night pictures and walked through Europa on the way back to our room. When we passed through La Piazza a game of Disney Trivia had just begun so we stopped and joined in. We got 17 of the 24 questions right, I got a few partially correct, but partial doesn't count. The prize was a DCL baseball hat.

Back up in the room we finished watching Brave while I uploaded some pictures to the laptop. Then Brian watched The Host while I took a nap. We really enjoyed the on demand feature with all the free movies, we made good use of it during our down times.

Up next, lunch at Royal Court and Mixology!
