BOG substitutions

My 10 yr old wont eat anything from the adult menu. We have DDP and she is an adult on that plan. Can I order an adult meal (maybe a sandwich) and sub the pasta they offer as a kids entree for the sandwich? I'd still like her to have an adult sized drink & desert. Also is there any way to do this when pre ordering with a FP+? Thanks!

Are you asking about lunch ? At lunch, I don't see any way to order a children's entree AND still get the adult dessert. There will be no problem ordering the children's entree and drinks are self serve so I don't see that as a problem. However, as the desserts are not included with children's meals at BOG I don't see how it could be done.

No judgements at all, but will your child not eat the turkey or ham sandwich on the adult menu ? You can have them hold all of the condiments/toppings so just a plain sandwich at that point.

If you are asking about dinner, my guess is that it will be up to your server.

Yes it is lunch. My kid is super picky and doesn't eat any sandwiches at all-- not even hamburgers! Well probably just order the kids meal & she won't get a cupcake if there is no way to do a substitution. Thanks for your reply :-)

She can still get a cupcake. You just have to buy it. When people go to restaurants where one or more family members don't like what is offered, adjustments must be made, and often those adjustments cost money.

You can buy the cupcake or use a snack credit for it.

I haven't used the pre-order system, but I would guess that if this modification can be done, your best chance would be to wait and do it at the ordering kiosk inside the restaurant when you arrive. There will be CMs to help with any changes so it will be easier to explain that you want to use an adult credit because your daughter wants the drink and dessert, but would like to sub the child's pasta as the entree.

We were behind a couple attempting to order from the menu at lunch - and attempting these substitutions. They were denied most attempts to switch out. My kids are picky eaters (but less than yours) - and they really enjoyed the ham. Good luck.

Just FYI - we found the kids portions to be tiny. When we went last spring my younger son was still considered a child and the counter service kids meals were not enough for him most of the time and he is NOT a big eater. There would be a scant 1/2 cup of pasta or 3 chicken nuggets, etc. It was really serving sizes for a 3 year old. Nothing like portion sizes you would get from the kids menu at a national chain restaurant. I had to make sure to order something he liked and he would eat off my plate. We picked mostly buffets for our sit-down meals so he could eat whatever he wanted.

That's great if you can make a substitution, but don't plan on a kids meal having enough food for a ten year old.

We're having dinner there in January and our son (age 8) will have the same issues. I'm pretty sure he will eat the fruit cup, and I think I'll order some french fries for him. I know I saw french fries on the adult menu. Then we're planning to bring some Jif-to-go and 2 slices of bread. I may ask him to at least try the grilled chicken, but it's his vacation too. If he wants PB, we'll do PB. I sure wish they had chicken nuggets.

Enjoy your trip!

Just a crazy suggestion - in the summer, our family went SANS plan - and BOG ordered two adult meals in favor of the kids' meals.

Ham sandwich. BIG hit. With picky AND not picky eaters.

My ds12 is super picky. We ordered him the roast beef sandwich without any condiments and he did eat about half of it. My dd9 had the kids turkey sandwich which she did not like so she ate the other half of ds's roast beef. Maybe save her CS credit for somewhere else and order her some fries and a cupcake.
