Questions about paying the balance on your room and tickets..

First question: Could you not pay the whole thing, and pay it when you arrive at the resort? Also could I do that with multiple gift cards?

Second question: if I called Disney to buy my park tickets within a week or so before I arrive, will I have to pay for them over the phone? Or could I pay for them when I check in? Again, with gift cards?

Thank you so much guys!

If you have a room only reservation, the balance is due at check in . You can pay part of it or pay it in full prior to arrival, but it's not due until check in. And yes, you can pay the balance with gift cards. However, if you have a package (which it sounds like you don't), that must be paid in full 45 days prior to arrival.

If you are buying tickets separately and do so ahead of time, those have to be paid for at time of purchase (and those can be paid for with gift cards as well ).

Okay, if you just want to add tickets, tell Disney you want room & tickets, not a MYW package. You will have to pay for the tickets immediately, but you can pay for the room portion upon arrival, after your make your initial deposit.

If you cancel the room booking and book a MYW package, then it's a $200 deposit and balance due 45 days prior to check-in.

Gift card payments shouldn't be an issue

Thank you so much! Yeah I'm probably just reserving my room and buying tickets separately

If you're doing a room only, I would buy the park tickets from a discounter like undercovertourist.com. They are legitimate tickets and can save you some money. If you have tons of gift cards and want to pay for your park tickets with gcs, that wouldn't work. You have to buy direct from Disney to use gcs for park tickets.

I always book room-only, and then I pay the full balance at check-in in cash. Then every few days I swing by the front desk to pay off my charges in cash, so nothing ever winds up on my debit card
