Feb 2014 hour changes

Wow! We will be at Disney after a cruise from Feb 7-11 and the hours have drastically changed with hours at Magic Kingdom going from closing at 9pm to 1am. on a non-emh night and all the other parks stay open 3-4 hours past original times. That kinda scares me that the times have been extending that much. Just wondering why they may feel they need to extend the hours that much that time of year. Wasn't planning on getting park hoppers but I may add them when I get there if some event is causing greater numbers of folks.

Big cheer competition that weekend, plus perhaps they're seeing increased numbers of reservations, etc., that makes them want to extend. And/or it could be because FP+ will be fully rolled out and they're bracing for a busy lead-in week to traditional February break week. All in all, I think it's fair to say extended hours means that Disney knows it's going to be busy(er).

We're going the same time. It'll likely be busier but we love the extended hours. We always find that sleeping in and staying in the parks late is an awesome way to tour! Love the parks at night.

DS marching band will be playing on the 8th but I don't think they would extend the hours just for them. I wonder how late they will let the kids stay in the park?

The sky is blue because any other color would be stupid.
