The alcohol has to be in your carry on and you must keep it with you until your room is available, so how much can you and do you want to carry?

Just because it worked for me or worked this way in the past or is part of the great Dis lore is no reason it will work this way in the future. Depending on the CM you get, new interpretation of the rules, changes in rules, weather over the Himalayas, your results may be different.

You may bring onboard whatever type, and however much, beverages you wish. The only requirement is that it must be carried on, not in checked bags.

Q:
May Guests bring alcohol onboard?
A:
While adult Guests ages 21 and older may bring alcohol onboard, the following guidelines apply:
•Alcohol brought on board may not be consumed in any lounge or public area.
•Guests who arrive in the dining room with a bottle of champagne or wine that has been brought on board will be charged a corking fee of $20.00 per bottle.
•Beverages must be packed in your carry-on bag—which must not exceed 22 inches wide, 14 inches high and 9 inches deep in dimension
•Coolers filled with personal items (e.g. soda, alcohol, chips, candy, etc.) may not be brought on board.

Please note: Disney Cruise Line reserves the right to remove fragile items (including beverages) from checked luggage. In such cases, items will be stored and returned at the end of the voyage. Beverage containers are considered fragile and have previously caused damage in checked luggage. All fragile items must be transported inside carry-on luggage

We just boarded the Dream on October 6 immediately following a week long vacation in Jamaica and had 2 750ml bottles of rum, 2 250ml bottles, and 4 mini bottles of over proof with no problem.

My wife and I both had carry on bags and a backpack. As long as it fits in the bags they don't say anything.

And it is very easy to get glasses, corkscrew, and bottle openers. I usually go to the bars and they hand it over with a smile. You can also ask room service. I have read here that people ask their room stewards but I have never had luck, they always tell me to call room service.

On our last cruise we ask our room steward as soon as we got our room for a wine bottle opener and some wine glasses and got them with no problem. I would take my wine glass to dinner with me and didnt have to order wine then.

How "overproof" were your mini-bottles? Anything over 140 proof is not permitted in checked or carry-on bags on an airliner for safety reasons.

We packed a backpack and a carry on luggage bag full of wine. I think we packed up like 15 bottles and went through security just fine. The only thing was carrying it around until the rooms were ready. Sure was heavy

I read this title and I was like, um... whatever you can drink!

Just be warned, I have brought on a lot of wine before finding the right amount for our needs, and had to bonus gift it to our room stewards.

I have now found the perfect amount to bring for a 4 day - one box of wine (4-5 bottles) and one bottle of gin or one large bottle of Vodka. If we don't finish the box of wine, then it's easy to take back off the ship.

This works for us and for others this may be a ton of alcohol, but it's easy to carry and keeps us satisfied for the week and off the cruise bought stuff for the most part.
