Realistically, the CC is a marketing ploy. Offering the CC Silver after a single cruise is a great enticement to those on the fence about booking again, while costing very little. "You get your own line, a present in your cabin, shiny lanyards, earlier booking" all sounds like a very big deal.

Whereas Platinum guests have taken many cruises, despite perks being dropped, there is little indicator that they won't continue to do so.

While there may be a way that seems better to us as Cruisers, it doesn't mean it matches the purpose of the program.

I think the only thing DCL would consider is another level. If they do that they should set the bar high. That way there would be an incentive for multi cruisers to try and reach the new level. This could also be a marketing ploy for DCL. If they do they should also add a few more perks. IF IF IF IF !

I like the idea of the "nights" counting as points - and then additional points for "concierge Level" (since you are paying more), or even "specialty cruising" getting additional points if that is a higher paying cruise.

We were recently on the DVC Member Cruise and there I spoke to an executive from the cruise line and he said they are hearing what we are all saying and they are having discussions on how to make adjustments to the Castaway Club.

It would be nice if there was some sort of plan that took into consideration number of nights onboard as well as number of cruises.

This.

It makes no sense to do number of cruises. It should be number of days at sea, like pretty much every other line.

You are absolutly correct. There are cruisers who are Platinum and have less days sailed than you do.

Probably close!

I am trying to think of a rational, business related decision to screw over people who go on long cruises, and I cant.

Also, if Carnival can pull off ship tours (and charge a hundred bucks for them!!!), which I gladly paid to see the engine room, I95, crew mess, galley, and bridge, so can Disney.
