Pretty much a coin flip. One may be further from the port, but the difference isn't compelling since you'll be on their bus anyway. I doubt it would be more than 5 minutes difference. You may want to check this thread for some possibly helpful info.

We've rented from both and tend to prefer Budget. The cars we've had we're a little better quality (our most recent Alamo a couple weeks ago was as bare bones as could be -- didn't even have automatic locks ) We like the shuttle better, too.

The upside to Alamo is the easy return at the Car Care Center on property. A little easier than Budget at DTD.

a) the only value answers to this would be those who've done several cruises and used various companies to compare .... "when I" is one example, not a trend.

b) It sounds like you want to part of the ME FIRST club .... that is a big dice roll. I've driven past the rental car agencies on A1A and seen the people stacked up with their luggage, the shuttles stacked on the road with a line of taxi trying to get in to the parking lot. The next cruise wants to be FIRST too . . .

My advice, and you may not like it, is to chill and try to make the trip home an enjoyable part of the vacation rather than the return of what you tried to escape

If you want/need to be out of PC quickly after debark and have issues with lines, and $ isn't an issue, I would keep a rental parked at the terminal. Talk about convenience and a Visa moment. Priceless.
