My very first HDR photo

By far not perfect, but I like it!

Wow, you guys are so good!

I am still struggling a bit with the noise clean up and getting that nice clean, sharp look that so many of you achieve.

Do you clean up and tweak the images at all before you merge the images into Photomatix, or whichever software you use for HDR, or do you create your HDR image first and then tweak? I only have Lightroom (4 - not upgraded to 5) and am considering Topaz Denoise, but need to find out how to use them together before I can be sure I have the right combination for my needs. Hope that all makes sense

Speaking for myself, I work on a Mac and use the Photomatix plugin for Aperture. After first processing the RAW images in Photomatix, I then make additional tweaks in Aperture.

Perhaps it's just a case of practice and finding my own technique that works for me. I don't really know. I am loving playing about with the images and currently do the same as you. I might need to dedicate a few hours to just working the same images in different ways and see if anything works better than the other. I'm always keen to hear how others do things too

On a recent business trip our hosts held a cookout on the Colorado River near Grand Junction. For once I took my good camera on a business trip and was glad I did!

Panasonic G3, 12-35, 5 exposures at 1 stop, Photomatix
