Noon flight, too rushed ??

There is a noon flight, taking disney transports back to ship and will have to check a bag likely... is this too rushed? What time would you suggest to be sure we are off ship? thanks.

My parents once did an 11:30 AM flight (but they drove their own rental car from the port), and they made it. They were stressed about it for most of the cruise, but they did make their flight. The earliest I've done is a 1:30 PM flight, using a car service for transportation and that stressed me out. My aunt/uncle were on the same flight and they used Disney's bus to get back and they made it back around the time we did. But it was stressful. I'll always go with a later flight from now on. Moral of the story - I think you can make it, but it may not be worth the hand wringing.

What airline are you flying? If it is a participating airline with DCL you can check you bags through with DCL and not have to take them to the airport.

It takes about an hour to get from the port to the airport. If you're off the ship between 8 - 9 AM you should have no problems making your flight.

I agree. You will most likely make that flight barring any delays getting in or getting off. If things go smoothly, and you get off more or less as soon as you can, and you clear customs quickly, and you get right on the bus and it leaves as it should when it's full (10 minutes) as they usually do, and there are no road delays, construction, etc, you should find yourself at the airport by 10AM. It seems like a lot has to go right in order to make it work out, but somehow it usually does. This past June we had a 10:56 flight, and we made it with quite a bit of time to spare. I am NOT however advocating cutting it that close. We were stuck with that when flight arrangements changed at the last minute. I think DCl advises 11:30 or something as the earliest recommended flight times, and that's going to be plenty 95% of the time.

It's very rare that we rush off the ship. We usually enjoy late breakfast in the dining room then head off and take Disney transportation. I would be comfortable with a noon flight (the non-stop for us usually is a 1pm flight so we head right to the airport and seem to be waiting for a few hours). We're usually to the airport by 10 so that would be right in line with the recommendation of 2 hrs before the flight. I know we usually have some extra time because we can usually take advantage on onboard airline check-in.

With a noon flight with having to check bags, I'd target to be off the ship by about 8:30ish.

It is a Southwest flight(and I have points so free ) so we would have to check bags. We always go to Cabana's that last morning. Thanks

12 PM flight is more than enough time. You will be fine. No worries. Disney would not recommend it (12 noon) if there were any chances of it not being feasible.

We had lost luggage - when we went to grab out luggage, bags one two and three were there - bag four was no where to be found.

They had us wait until everyone had left the port and there were half a dozen families looking at the remaining bags.

So we didn't leave port until well after 9am that time. By the time we got to the airport is was close to 11 - and there was an hour long security line at that time - fortunately, our flight wasn't until three, so we skipped the line, went airport shopping and had lunch.

(Our bag wasn't among the orphaned - someone from Indiana had grabbed it and it made it to our house late that night thanks to Delta after taking a tour of the Indianapolis airport.)

When we went on our first cruise in June, we had an 11:30 flight. We were nervous about making it on time. But did online check-in the night before, ate a quick breakfast at Cabanas, took Disney bus, and we were at the airport with about 2 hours to spare... You should be fine
