Smitch's got a point. I failed to think about the young ones when I replied. I retract my "I think it would be ok" comment. Sorry!

Just a request...

If those flying out in the next few days could report back with any added issues/complications due to the current congressional temper-tantrum I would be most appreciated.

I've been hearing variations on what airport staff is classified as "essential". From what I've read it sounds like even if they are there they won't be getting paid.

My gut reaction that this is going to cause major slowing at the tsa. Someone please confirm that I'm wrong!

How did I not post here before?!?

DH, DD4 & I will be staying at AKV - Jambo from October 10th-19th, and doing MNSSHP on the 18th. First trip without DS20 because he's in college, but he'll be heading down on a solo trip in January to celebrate his 21st birthday!

We're on the DxDP this time around, which is kind of funny because DD is 99% tube fed! She's a former 1 lb 2 oz preemie with cerebral palsy and Autism, and also has a swallowing disorder. Until this year, she was 100% fed via g-tube, but she's slowly learned to eat a bit of food - about 100 calories/day - by mouth. She still isn't able to drink from a cup, although she does try to take teeny tiny sips!

Here's our park/ADR schedule:

Thursday, October 10th: Arrive at AKV. Pool & DTD
D - Raglan Road @ 6:00p

Friday, October 11th: Magic Kingdom
B - Crystal Palace @ 8:25a
L - LTT @ 1:00p
D - Artist Point @ 7:25p

Saturday, October 12th: Epcot
B - Akershus @ 8:30a
L - Coral Reef @ 1:40p - might cancel
D - Le Cellier @ 6:20p

Sunday, October 13th: Hollywood Studios
B - Boma @ 9:15a
D - Cape May Cafe @ 6:25p

Monday, October 14th: Animal Kingdom
B - Tusker House @ 8:30a
D - 'Ohana @ 6:30p

Tuesday, October 15th: OUR ANNIVERSARY! Pool & DTD
B - Kona @ 10:15a
L - Fulton's Crab House @ 1:30p
D - Boma @ 7:35p

Wednesday, October 16th: Magic Kingdom
B - 'Ohana @ 9:20a
L - Crystal Palace @ 1:15p - just me & DD (unless I score CRT!!!)
D - Be Our Guest @ 6:00p

Thursday, October 17th: Hollywood Studios & Epcot
B - Hollywood & Vine @ 9:05a - just me & DD
L - Le Cellier @ 2:40p
D - Rose & Crown @ 7:25p

Friday, October 18th: Animal Kingdom & Magic Kingdom for MNSSHP!
B - Boma @ 8:30a
L - Whispering Canyon Cafe @ 2:20p

Saturday, October 19th: Home

If you see us along the way, feel free to say hello! Short, "pooh sized" mom with curly hair and Dad with goatee and glasses, both in our 40s. Adorable DD in purple CityMini stroller, hopefully with a big smile on her face! Hoping for some pixie dust that things go smoothly with the new DAS pass (for people with special needs) and that the weather is kind to us all!

I added you to the lists. We will be staying at AKL around the same time. We are October 16- 20. Maybe we will see you there.

I read an article today that TSA is operating but aircraft safety inspectors are furloughed. I am SO freaked out by that...

We arrive on 10/31 and we are staying until 11/4. The countdown has officially begun for us! This is our 4th trip and my friend and her daughter are joining us and it's their first trip so we are hoping that it is extra magical!

I read an article and it said the opposite, to expect longer delays at TSA security checkpoints bc there would be less security officers but that air traffic controllers were considered exempt from the furloughs.

I read the same about the air traffic controllers...it's the aircraft safety inspector furlough that has me scared Though I don't know much about the ins and outs of plane inspections...maybe airlines have their own, too?

This article put my mind at ease....It seems security, air traffic controllers AND TSA at airports are exempted from the furlough. (We travel on the 10th.)
