I guess what I'm trying to guess is will we still find out about round two at the same time or will those changes alter the schedule?
I have thought that myself. Surely, they can't read 20,000(?) applications each with 5 essay questions in the same amount of time as they did in previous years when there were only 2 essay questions.

I wondered if maybe less people applied this year because of the longer initial application. Perhaps they're only looking at the first essay unless you "pass." I'm unsure how they'll go about it. If there are the same size of applicant pool and they do read all of our essays, I'd imagine round two will come later than historically.

Here is a listing of all Disney Movies.
Well, I wore out our video store's copy of Sword & the Stone when I was a kid... The store eventually gave it to me, because it skipped in parts & I'm sure my parents MORE than paid for that movie. (Remember when you couldn't just buy Disney movies?)

I love Disney's take on Merlin & I love Archimedes. I giggle even now, thinking about when the tower is flooding & he comes out soaking wet.

My husband strongly dislikes that movie though, because he was so disappointed they didn't continue on with the rest of the King Arthur story! He said he spent his childhood waiting for the next part. Poor kid.

But I also have very strong happy memories about The Little Mermaid. I was 9 & my dad took me to see it in the theater, just us. He then bought me the soundtrack tape & probably regretted doing so, because it's all I listened to for probably the next 2 years! haha Still have the words memorized. I sometimes wonder what facts I've forgotten, so that I can retain the words to all these Disney songs.

I think the extra essays may actually make the process easier for them. Yes, it takes longer to read each one, but I think you get a better sense of each applicant with the essay questions. Hopefully it makes the decision process a bit easier. It's really just wishful thinking on my part. I'm not good at patiently waiting

Your reward trip is dependent upon your contract, but typically includes theme park passes for four guests. It is totally separate from your training trip!

Ok, that makes more sense!

Obviously the animated movies are amazing but my favorite ones are the National Treasure movies & the Pirates of the Caribbean series. We LOVE action movies and it's great to not be worried about language or goriness in a movie when you are watching with your kids. And with National Treasure your kids can learn some ACTUAL history.

No options, either, but I've always felt that the compensation for doing this job is way beyond expectations - but I would do this totally for free, I love it that much!
OK I see - so it changes from year to year - got it. Ditto - I would love to do this!

Just curious....were the essay questions this year similar to round 1 questions in years past?

Also, I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a long time Disney fanatic (my college dorm room was decked OUT in all things disney...including a HUGE stuffed Mickey that sat on my bed. I didn't care!) A decade and a half later, I'm a stay at home mom to a 4 year old princess and 1 year old twin boys! We took our circus (as we call it), and both sets of our parents to DisneyWorld this summer and had the most amazing time. I'm still in awe how lucky we were to experience our kids' first Disney vacation together...despite the heat and rain!

Welcome to the waiting room!!!

Since this is only my second year applying I can only speak to the differences between this year and last year. This year many of the questions which appeared in Round 2 last year were in Round 1. Last year there were only two essay questions in the first round along with several Disney trivia questions.

Wow! How time flies when you are having fun reading the DisBoards!!

Here is today's question:

If you could have any job at Disney (except Mom Panelist), what would it be?
This can be in any park or any subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company.
