Truck Parking

ok - super RANDOM question but my hubby drives an 18 wheeler and is looking for a load to Florida so he can have an excuse to take me/us to Disney (sweet right?? ) do any of the resorts have 18 wheeler parking? or is our best bet to park at a truck stop and cab it to a resort?

thank you

I think it will depend on a couple of things:

1. Are we talking just the rig, or rig+trailer?

2. Are you planning on staying at the resort, or just parking it there and taking the bus to the parks?

If it is just the rig, and you'll be staying at the resort, then I'm sure they'd let you park there. They let RVs park (in the back areas of the parking lots) when they are guests of the resort.

If you'll be hauling a trailer though, I can see where there might be problems. And you can't park at any resort if you aren't staying or dining there.

I also drive so I kinda notice trucks at Disney. While staying at Coranado Springs last November there were 2 parked there almost all week. It was at the back of a lot and both had trailers hooked up to them

I remember seeing Buses (motorhomes) in WL back parking lot and have seen motorhomes parked in the back of the front lot at WL. I would ask when making reservations and just mention motorhome, they will probably get confused if you say truck... P.S. We use the campground a lot and over the years I have seen 18 wheel trucks (cab) parked there also, they have sleepers makes a good camper.

Thank you! It would just be the rig so this is super helpful! And I'm sure sleeping in a truck is ok for him but I'm at Disney! I need the full experience -- complete with a resort

I would verify with Disney and hope they give you the right answer. At AKL and CBR there was plenty of parking during our stays. For the CBR trip, I drove my F350 with a crew cab and 8' foot bed to WDW, a tractor without the trailer would not be that much larger than my pickup.

AKL had plenty of parking even at Spring Break. I would park away from other cars and I noticed quite a few tractor trailer sized RVs taking up quite a few spots in the parking lot. We have always parked under AKV so I don't know how the parking is outside at AKV but it seemed to have plenty of parking towards AKL. That might be problematic if your room is on the other side of AKV and you had to walk to the truck frequently.

I would be shocked if you and your husband were the first visitors to WDW who arrived with a semi.

Later,
Dan

70's to 1997 too many trips to count.

Disney is a lens that focuses on people.
Sometimes it exposes the worst.
Most of the time it highlights the best.
