Yes my son and I did this a few years back. (We were staying at Atlantis at the time.) While the concept is neat and view of you doing the "walk" outside the tank is cool, the actual practice of doing it was a bit underwhelming. I will say that I am a scuba diver so I am used to being more "free" while under water. The main reason I say this is that the big helmet they put on your head is large but the view from inside is distorted because of the thick glass it has, so its a little hard to tell how close you are to an object. Also you don't really get a good 360 degree view as you are looking out smallish port style openings. Don't get me wrong it was neat to do but now that I have do it I wouldn't do it again. Also factor in if you aren't a scuba diver it is a cool way to be underwater and not just snorkeling on top.

This is my $.02 based on having done it a few years ago so it the helmets could have changed since then I guess. If you are looking for this kind of experience with a bit more freedom I'd suggest a sNuba excursion when you can find one. You are underwater with nothing on but a mask and your air hose is connect to a tank on the surface. No "resort certification" is required so its pretty easy to do. Also you can only go about 20 ft deep or so.
