Best way to get around Fort Wilderness Campgrounds for Xmas lights

We would like to wander the FW Campgrounds and see all the fantastic Christmas lights at night people have set up for their sites but wonder what is the best way to get around and do this?

I'm guessing walking is the only way to go? We are not staying there so we do not plan on renting a golf cart.

Thanks!

Sounds like fun. You can also take the internal FW buses. They go a few different routes through the park, and you can get off at any of the stops and walk some of the campground loops. Then when you are done you can hop on the bus and head to either the North or South end of FW to catch your other transportation.

Not maybe answering your original question, but during the holiday season they also offer sleigh rides at Ft. Wilderness. Not cheap at $64 for 25 minutes but it would be a unique experience.

But other than the golf carts, walking or renting bicycle would be your main options if you want to see the lights set up around the different loops.

There is also a wagon ride that's under $10 per person. If you plan to pay for anything, and you have 4 people, then a golf cart is definitely the way to do it. It would cost the same as a sleigh ride and you can have it for as long as you want (24 hours or less). Since it gets dark by 5, you can start early, stop over at the Chip and Dale singalong and see them in their costumes, take some pictures, see some more loops, go out to the beach and see the fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant, then go see more loops. Pick up a pizza or take-out from Trail's End, or have dinner at the buffet.

It really is a great way to spend an evening. You're allowed to rent a cart if you aren't staying there. We've done it.

I spent a couple of hours walking around Fort Wilderness in December 2010. If you are in even moderately good condition, it's a very easy walk. No hills.

When we stayed at Ft. Wilderness some years back they rented golf carts to get around. Not sure if they still do but that would be a way to get around to see the lights.
