So it looks like you're already on your way with my tip. Read the boards as much as you can. Not only does it help with the excitement, but you will probably be surprised at how many questions other cruisers posted that you just hadn't thought about. Happy planning. :D

pack a nightlight or glow sticks to leave in the bathroom. I locked myself in a dark bathroom(light switch was outside the bathroom) in the middle of the night after a slight panic attack, banged on the wall to wake DH to let me out.

AHHH! Thanks for telling me! I'm glad your DH came to the rescue and I shall packs lots of 'em!

But thanks everyone for the info, this is great and I am keeping a Tip Notebook to get all these great ideas down!

Another tip someone had said was that she asked for the cake of the day every night from room service! She said it was a lot of fun tasting all the different cakes! Milk and cookies sound great (I do love me some milk and cookies), but I try to branch out from things that can be found at home more easily!

Spreading the Disney Love! <3

On day 1 as you enter the cruise ship find out which restaurant serving lunch, as they will have a special spread that day that will be better than the regular buffet places on day 1.

Also, you can call cruise line close to your sail date and find out in advance which movies scheduled on your cruise.

wake up early one day and explore the ship when it's quiet and empty; then head to the top deck, get to the front of the ship and just breathe in that you're on vacation!

What ship are you sailing on? That could change my answer.

Breakfast outdoors. I am amazed more don't do it. You can't beat eating breakfast and watching the ocean go by, super peaceful and relaxing. Great way to start a day.

I bring along my favorite air freshener plug in (in my case Bath and Body) combined with a night light, which kills 2 birds with one stone (light and better smelling bathroom/cabin) and every cruise the cabin attendant has commented on how he likes the way our cabin smells.

Not sure if this is a tip but something I think people on vacation forget to do.

Be courtious to and aware of fellow passanger!

I know its vacation and everyone is excited but it doesn't mean bad manners are okay!

In the elevators, at the buffett, in the hallways... heck anywhere!

Its like driving on the highway, you have to pay more attention than the other drivers just so you don't get run over!

Kinda hard to pick one thing that I like to do the most on the ship but I would have to say I really enjoy those quite moments in the morning in the cove cafe on sea days. My favoirte tip would be don't overpack.

For pictures with characters or nice family pictures (before or after dinner) --- put all your family pictures on 1 stateroom keycard (especially if you're traveling with grandparents or other family booked in separate staterooms). That way you can buy just 1 package (it's expensive, but totally worth it) as they won't combine staterooms later.

Take all the pictures with characters, family pictures, etc. throughout the cruise. Some of our best family pictures have been on our Disney Cruises.

And yes, definitely book your next cruise onboard. It's a 10% discount (so for a family of 4 in an inside stateroom 7 days...it's around $400 - $500) and you can always move the date and transfer it to your travel agent. Wish I knew this earlier...I learned my lesson.

I wish I'd figured this out sooner...my kids loved the new Donald pool on the Magic last week but it was always pretty crowded. On our last sea day, we got to the pool right when it opened at 8:30. My husband and I were able to get a good table right by the pool and have breakfast from Daisy's Delights while we watched the kids. I was so sick of heavy food by that point that a light breakfast was just perfect. There were only 3-4 other kids in the pool the for about the next hour, it was great. I wish we had done that every morning.
