Thinking of taking our First DCL-Marvel/Avengers or Disney Jr on Fantasy?

I am trying to convince my husband to take a Disney Cruise with the kids - 6rs, 5yrs and 2 years old. I have to get him over the sticker shock! We are looking at May for our 10 year anniversary!!

I would also like to have some ammo (Not that I really should need any)

So if they did Marvel Avengers (like I see they are doing on the other ships) that would def help! Is there any plan to incorporate this on the Fantasy ?!?!

And also wondering if they have incorporated the news Disney Jr shows like Sofia the First or Jake and the Neverland pirates, etc

Just curious! Thanks to anyone who has the inside scoop!

I don't know if there are any plans to make changes to the Fantasy yet, but I do know that Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, and Jake are onboard for pictures.

We booked the Magic for our family and anniversaries! We have no kids but our 3 day Dream this year was so amazing. We booked interior 4 Days on the 'new' Magic (Mom & Dad only get veranda) and it's really not any more money than our last Carnival Cruise was (a few less days of cruising trivia and hairy chest contests) so it's not really more than the others depending on the time, length and itinerary.

If you aren't sure or if sticker shock is a concern, book a 4 day. He will learn to LOVE it and then you can rebook on board with 10% off and get the Fantasy next time. A 4 day still has PLENTY to offer a family!

Woohoo! May 5 on the Magic here we come!

I agree. Lots to do on shorter cruises on the Dream. Another option to help keep costs down is to go off peak in Jan or Feb.

Oddly enough - May 2014 is cheaper than BOTH Jan and FEB of 2014

yes we did 4 day first and it felt much longer than it was, it was all of our first cruise also, since then the kids have fallen in love with it so we followed up with a WDW and DCL week.

Not sure if they have Sofia, the only place I've seen that is in the parks at the Disney Jr. On stage (DCA and DS)

to help with the sticker shock search on some of the great tips on this board to get some savings, can help a lot

Good thing May just happens to work out perfectly for us! My anniversary is May 3 and the water is warmer and the weather is perfect! (hopefully, nowadays one can never be sure)

I doubt they will be redoing the kids clubs on the new ships since those have just come out in the past couple years. The Magic will be getting the Avenger design and it is expected that the Wonder will eventually as well once the PC expansion has been completed.
