things you will just never be good at

I have just finally accepted that i will never be able to paint nails. I stink at it. My nails always look so bad if I do them myself. Pedicures are hopeless and manicures start out looking ok but as I progress they get worst. I will just find a way to work this in to my budget if I care. During the summer and at Christmas I care about pedis. Right now I'm trying to improve my fingernails by my dd's wedding so I'm going to splurge on a mani once a week. When I pay for a pedi I get a lot of mileage out of it.
I also have accepted that I can't cook pancakes. Really, I can't. It's hard for me to give up on things because I really believe that practice makes perfect.

Running, and don't anybody try to come at me with their "Couch 2 5K" success stories. That's great for you, but decades have been spent trying to turn me into a runner... It's just never.gonna.happen. I hate it AND am bad at it, which is the worst of combinations.

Plucking eyebrows. It hurts! And I just don't have the patience. So I use a razor to get rid of the unibrow and that's it. Maybe I'll invest in a "NO-No hair remover someday, but if it hurts and takes too much time...I don't think so.

Used to not be able to do pancakes or gravy. Got those now, but it took a lot of hours and I couldn't rely on DH because he was overseas.

Also terrible at Trivial Pursuit. don't care.

I am never ever ever going to be a fast runner. Ever. I can usually consistently keep a 15 minute mile which is fast enough for Disney races but I never seem to be able to crack that time no matter what I do.

Oh lord, let me count the ways...I will never be a runner, or a tennis player or a golfer. I have taken classes in all 3, failed miserably. I am bad at many things.

The list is too long of things I am not good at. But the list of things I can do is fairly long too, so it evens out.

Folding fitted sheets! My mother has somehow mastered this and her linen closet looks immaculate. She has tried to teach me multiple times, but it just never works. They just end up in a glorified ball that I try to hid under the other sheets and pillowcases I can fold.

Cartwheels. It's just not even remotely graceful or pretty.

I will never be good at math. I am a math idiot. I can do basic math, once you add letters I'm done. I have no clue. My kids laugh at how bad I am at it. I have to have my husband check my older kids homework. It's really bad.

I also can't waterski. I can't tell you how many times I have tried. I will never be able to get up in the water.

Sewing. I have no patience for it.

If I were a plastic surgeon, my patient would look like Frankenstein.

If I rip something, even at the seam, I cannot for the life of me make dainty little stitches.

And heaven help me if I have to sew a button on a shirt...

I can't draw. My mother and grandpa are amazing artist. My mom tried to teach me for years. I am a lost cause!
