Fast pass plus question

I will be at the world sept 6-16th at French quarter. I'm a disney veteran but the amount of pages of information on the new system are insane and I cannot find what I'm looking for. Is there a chance it will be live when I'm there? Or will it for sure be live? I'm not really wanting it because I like to be spontaneous and pick what I want to ride when I get to the parks plus we park hop and would like to use multi park FP. I'm sorry if me posting this upsets someone I just have looked through pages and pages and cannot find what I'm looking for. I fully know my answer may not be answerable but it's worth a shot....right? Lol

also, when people do the FP+, does that decrease the amount of regular FP available? Even though I read a lot I'm still slightly confused on this system since so many people chime in lol

I believe if you are using FP+ you are not able to get regular FP. I would think the total number of FP available for a certain attraction would be the same - the occupancy levels didn't change just the way to get the FP so yes I would think the amt available at the FP machine would be less.

I know I can't use both at the same, I'm trying to ask if I have to use it in sept or if it hasn't rolled out to everyone

No official date has been released. I know they are doing another testing phase in August.

Although the number of guests accessing the machine would be less (because they have used FP+) so your fair share should still be there.

I don't understand this. I really want to. Here is an example:

If there are 7000 FP slots available a day for Peter Pan. And 50,000 people a day go to MK on an average day - not peak times just average day. Then 150,000 FP+ could be scheduled plus the cheat code bonus surprise and delight FP+ could add another 10,000-20,000.

It sure seems likely that 7000 people will be eligible and educated enough to figure out how to go online and grab a Peter Pan for any given day. This may happen with the test in August.

Only 15% of the guests need to prebook to wipe out the inventory. This would mean very little available for regular FP or the day of. I don't see a fair share being available. Unless of course Disney is successful in getting people to NOT want to ride PP, and go and visit the tiki room instead.

That 7000 number is based on 70% of all Peter Pan rides for a day being used for FP.

I seriously doubt that it will be fully functioning for everyone by September. It's possible, but not probably imo. But the truth is, no one really knows. They're still testing it.

I agree with this. There may be another test in September, who knows. I have heard a rumor that they want it fully rolled out in time for F&W fest. It makes sense that they would want it rolled out and have all (most at least) of the bugs worked out before the holiday season.

You can say no. The problem would be if a significant number of people are in the test group during your stay and they through the numbers off for the non testers.

Well after changing my ressie to a split stay including CR we now qualify for the testing for part of our trip. It is very scary only being able to book 3 so far in advance. So many variables. Oh well lets go with the flow and hope for the best.

How will they throw off the numbers?

I agree. During peak times, for headliners, the assumption that each person who books FP+ in advance just fills up a slot that they would have taken with a same day FP, and it all balances out, leaving some comfortable remaining number of guests wanting same day FPs is flawed. With the new system, demand will be higher because it will be easier and guests will be guided into using it from the beginning. There certainly won't be a situation where we have less guests choosing from a larger pool of available same day headliner FPs. No chance of that based on the numbers.

There will be less regular FPs available. If the test group is large enough, it will be noticeable.
