Cool African Dwarf Frogs

I bought a pair of frogs for my daughter, Madison, in May of 2008 (she was 10 then) from a Hallmark store in the Exton Mall. A few years later she lost interest in those frogs and I was deemed the frog keeper. They were curious and funny and both had very different personalities. One was named Chad (the chubby one) and the other was Squirt. They both lived harmoniously in their plastic container for the next two years (2010). Chad continued to gain weight and monopolize the food, while Squirt sat patiently and waited for the kibbles to trickle down.

Fast forward to 2012, I bought a goldfish fish bowl, new gravel and a new bamboo stalk. Squirt thinned out, as Chad, was quite greedy, and never little Squirt eat his share of the frog kibbles. So, Squirt passed away in 2012 after four happy years with us. Chad lives on and still a happy frog. I have had to buy a few new snails to keep the environment clean and stable but these new snails have been with us for a little over two years.

If anyone wants to know what it is I do to keep my frogs thriving, let me know, and I will tell you my secret to a healthy African Frog. It is not as hard as you think, but I will tell you right now, it isn't feeding them twice a week! That is not enough!

I know this is a zombie thread, but dang! This is a new one on me. I don't believe I've ever seen live creatures for sale at Hallmark!

My son received one of these frogs as a birthday gift when he was 4.....he's 24 1/2 now...yes, that darn frog is still alive. Be aware, the frog will grow to match his environment, you put it in a huge aquarium, it'll get huge!!!
