I'm exactly one month away from our arrival. Will you be posting on vacation?

Hey KOOK, my family and I are wondering about the Wilderness Lodge during Christmas time. Historically, have you seen any discounts or pins for WL at Christmas? Thanks.

I was wondering where the rooms locations are for a king HA/w roll in shower are. I have a courtyard view booked for 11/30-12/7 and was wondering what floor this might be on and if it will be close to an elevator. We are traveling with my mom this year for the first time and she will also have a ECV.

I believe they are spread out throughout the resort, but room 6025 was a handicapped accessible king bed room when we stayed in it in June 2007. It is in the North wing, just a few rooms down from the hall from the elevators near Roaring Fork, so it is a very accessible location.

There were free dining and room discounts for select dates in December in 2012, but nothing the week between Christmas and New Year's since that is their prime vacation time. There are rumors that there will be some sort of discount for select dates in 2013. We'll have to wait a few months before we know for sure.

Hi, Katie. In my experience, from around 12/22 through 1/2 there never is a general public discount for any WDW Resorts. There may be a AAA discount (I'm not a member) and there is an SOG overflow rate of 20% off for military, but other than those, I've never seen any discounts.

Is there a posting somewhere of travel times to the parks? How are the buses there? And the boat to MK? Which other resorts can you take the boat? (And travel times)

Really trying to compare ease of transportation vs. cost right now...

Jan 5th - 12th. DH is running the Marathon, so he'll be at the bus stop on Sun the 12th quite early.

For us in a low crowd time in September the travel times were approximately as follows:

Buses:
MK: 5 min
AK: 20 min
Epcot: 15-20 min
HS: 15-20 min
DTD: 25 min

Boats:
MK: 12 min
CR: 5 min
FW: 5 min

These are all approximate and by recollection, and again it was during a low crowd time. We were very happy with the bus service, and on the way to HS and DTD we also picked up people at GF on the way, and Epcot picked up at FW ( included in the time shown). On the way back from the parks to WL, WL was always the first stop so the times were probably a little quicker. None of the times include waiting for the bus to get there, which varies based on how lucky you are.

Overall we enjoyed the boat transportation because Bay Lake is so beautiful. It was not the fastest, but it was the prettiest way to get places. Your boat options are the direct boat to MK and the boats that do the loop between WL, CR, and FW. We did choose to take the boat to CR and then get on the monorail, even though this took longer than more direct transportation.

For us WL was a great value and we loved the transportation.

Thanks for the info! Trying to compare to CR or Poly...worth the extra $ to be on the monorail or not...Loved being able to walk to the TTC from our room at the Poly and grabbing the monorail to MK, Epcot, or the other resorts from there...SO fast and easy...

Excellent summary and I will add this to the first page's Transportation section.

Just elaborating in case anyone is wondering, you can also boat to CR and then walk to the MK or take the monorail to the TTC to get to Epcot or to the Poly and GF (or to MK), but this is indirect, as Paul mentioned.
