I see nothing wrong with staying positive but I also see nothing wrong with talking about these things. So far I see nothing to be excited about.

I don't remember ever worrying about the original fastpass but it could be that some people did. I don't remember that but it has been a while.

As a change management consultant the whole roll out of the FP+ irks me SO MUCH!.... the whole thing is just a classic example of poor change management...im sure internally there are good plans for CM's and other employees to adapt and embrace this change but what about park guests...ya know the people who will be using the system day in/day out.... With the proper change management techniques, there would naturally be resistance, but perhaps not to the level we're seeing today...

Extrapolating the numbers results in many "what if's" and "consequences" (very likely many of them "unintended") that are apparent in the promised "improvements."
EXACTLY!

No truer words were ever spoken...ok, that's an exaggeration...kinda

I don't have a lot of confidence in their "data sets" at this point...I'm of wait and see and watch it implode mindset at this point! Like Robo said, the collateral consequences are going to happen and, to me, obvious, except to Disney!

With all the negativity directing toward FP+, I'm left to wonder if anyone remembers the initial anticipation and reaction to the original FASTPASS (you know, the one that everyone wishes would stay). Does anyone else remember the original "death of spontaneity at WDW"? Well, fourteen years later, we've learned how to use the system to our advantage and we're begging for it to stay. Could history repeat itself with FP+? Personally, I feel that sometimes it's appropriate to have some "blind confidence". Not necessarily saying that I'm excited, but I'm reserving judgement until things get rolling. Thoughts?
Interesting point! I know for our family, I'm a little excited about FP+. We hate having to run over to rope drop and run around for FPs, we are happy riding something once, we don't stay in the park for hours and hours, we never got more than 3 FPs a day anyway...etc. If I can book one or two good rides a day at whatever park we are going to ahead of time, and I can know the times, it will be awesome IMO.

But...doesn't mean that FP+ is actually going to make my ideal scenario above actually happen either. So I am both excited yet still hesitant but probably for different reasons than other people.

I'll say that it'll be a good thing for me if I can spend 9 am to noon at MK - riding things on short stand-by lines, then have lunch and head over to DHS where I can use my FP+ to ride TSMM and RnRC....

Back when FP debuted, I used to chat in an AOL Disney chat room. Granted, its been a long time, but I don't remember much angst over the change.

I personally remember being really, really excited. I was in college and had to wait a few years to experience it first hand, but I couldn't wait to try it out. It lived up to expectations.

I have a group of Disney lovers like myself and this has been our biggest talking point when dealing with this whole concept.

The current FP system, to us, worked fine. I think it comes down to showing off the idea of the look at this cool new technology we have. Well use that money and spend it on more, new, and technological attractions. More attractions means you can spread out the crowds better each day.

Just my opinion, among a lot of opinions, on this topic..... for us all.

Truthfully, if I was a betting person, this is what Disney has in mind. Selling more park hoppers -- those who want to get the full benefit of using the FP+ system will need to do this.
