I have gone twice and I travel without hubby with 2 daughters. It is super easy. CS knows what everyone is doing, they dont' care, they get the money for no services, so they are happy to help. Just walk out the BACK door of CS and across the street into the Casino, thru the casino to the main lobby(by the Dig) downstairs to get armbands. There are lockers, and we ate at the food stand right by the pools. YUMMY nachos and tons of them, and the kids meals are plentiful... so we just got one kid meal, a sandwich and nachos... and couldn't finish it all. Free refills on pop. Just grab at taxi at the main lobby back.If you have 5, go to your meet thread here on disboards. Since we are a party of three, I just added one person on mine each time... and we rode over together. I love it better than disney too as you can come and go as you please... no standing in a long line like we did for the Blue Lagoon excursion. The resort is just beautiful even if you dont' take full advantage of the slides and such. The beach is stunning, it was truly magnificent days and I can't wait to go back again!

i was not charged anything until I checked in. again, i did this straight through the Comfort Suites website and did not pick the advance rate (there's a cheaper rate for Choice members but you pay in full at the time of reservation). I booked under the AAA rate which knocked a few bucks off.

There is a good rate today on Expedia for Atlantis Beach Tower. Wondering if we could do the check in/out there that people do for Atlantis? Anyone know?

Would there be hidden fees? Not seeing anything listed.

I was wondering the same thing. Why not just book a room at Atlantis? Has anybody done this.

Well I went ahead and booked as it's free cancellation. Also emailed Atlantis to ask if we can get the wristbands prior to the 3 pm. check in. They responded right away and said that would be up to the check in desk at the Beach Tower. If they can't guarantee that then I will just cancel. Send back a reply saying that we only needed the wristbands early not the room and if that wasn't possible we would be canceling. I'll see what they say back.

Let me just add that we did this too and it was great. The best deal is party of four, and since we two, we posted in our DISMeet thread and found two other people to go with us.

As others have said, checking in and out couldn't have been easier. We brought lunch from ship with ziplock bags with ice. (Please don't flame, I know some have said not to) We read food was very expensive. honestly we didn't think so, and thought it was no more than you'd pay for food at a water park at home or the Magic Kingdom.

At the end of the day, we had about a 2 minute wait to find someone to go back to this ship with us. (The cab wouldn't go with just two people at $4.00 per person.) We said we'd just pay the four person cab fare, but the hotel valet said to just wait a minute and they were right, another couple came up shortly and we shared the cab.

I just booked a room at the Comfort Suites for October 2013. For two adults on a AAA rate, the roomwas $143. With taxes & fees it will be $214. More than I wanted to pay, but still significantly less than DCL. We may end up cancelling it anyway; I just wanted to be sure to get a decent rate in case we decide to do this.

I booked too but for a family of 4. I think I paid $290 Canadian which is far less than the $622 U.S. DCL wants.

When do you sail?

amazingly decent rate.

when I was still thinking about getting off the ship in February of 2014 I couldn't get anything less than $343 base.

I am now staying put on the ship.

I took have a reservation with CS for $143 AAA rate for end of august. I saw the rate drop end of January so I booked it.

I did this almost 5 years ago and the price I booked ahead of time with CS stayed the same when I checked it. Back then my total was $275 and I had 2 rooms for 6 people. However, I ended up adding my parents last minute and cost of $550 for 2 rooms covered 8 people. They never charged me extra.

I also book directly thru the Comfort Suites site.

You will get off the boat faster if you don't book with Disney but I think in the end it is a wash unless you have at least 4 in your party. For my daughter and I it was cheapest to book with Disney and have the transportation taken care of but if you have a larger party definitely look at the CS option!

Bumping this thread. I am also sailing on the MAgic October 20 cruise stopping in Nassau on OCtober 23. Expedia has a rate of $103.74 for the Atlantis Beach Tower. I don't think I saw anything definitive on if we could get our wristbands early, even if we don't check into the room until 3pm.

I know people do this all the time. Anyone had some first hand experience they can share?
