Which would you pay out of pocket?

Here are my dining reservations. We'll be there 7 days and have 7 Table Service credits, but 8 reservations as follows:

1) Dinner at Chef Mickey's
2) Fantasmic Dinner Package at Hollywood and Vine
3) Lilo & Stitch Breakfast at Ohana
4) Dinner at Ohana
5) Breakfast at The Crystal Palace
6) Breakfast at Akershus
7) Dinner at Rainforest Café, Animal Kingdom (sort of tempted to switch to Sanaa but I have a couple of picky eaters in my party). Will likely keep Rainforest
8) Dinner at Biergarten (I think I want to upgrade to Candlelight processional when that comes out). 2 Credits, right? If so, would that be the best to pay out of pocket?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me!

I would go to wdwinfo.com and look up the prices and pay for the cheapest out of pocket. Based on my experience it seems the Rainforest Cafe will be the cheapest.

Rainforest is going to be the least expensive of those meals unless you do go for the CP package, which would make better sense to pay OOP since it's 2 credits

It's also worth noting that your entire party doesn't have to have the same payment method. You only one non-fixed price place (Rainforest), but it might still be helpful. Let's say Person A wants to order the $45 steak (I'm making up prices) and Person B wants the $15 salad. I'd pay for Person A using the DDP and pay OOP for Person B.

I don't think you're going when seasonal pricing is in effect, so I would take a quick look at the prices for the breakfasts. Those might not be that expensive. For example, 'Ohana for breakfast is about $26/adult (highest price). Last year, the Biergarten cost about $55 for dinner with the CP package. So each credit was "worth" about $27.50. So it might be most cost effective to pay OOP for 'Ohana and use the credits for the CP package. It'll depend a lot on how expensive the CP package is this year.

There is a really handy calculator on the DDP threads that tells you how to best use your credits based on the info you provided. If you do a search on dining plan calculator I'm sure you'll find the link on this board several places.

The breakfasts or rain forest will be the cheaper options to pay out of pocket

You'll want to use credits for DS at ALL buffets (even breakfast) as those are almost always close to the cost of the DDP for him for the day. Pay OOP for him at one of the a la carte places where kids meals are routinely under $10.

If one of the adults is interested in the steak or one of the steak combos, I would be tempted to use ONE TS credit at Rainforest (and pay OOP for the other) just so you would also have a dessert to share. Then do the same thing at one of the breakfast buffets.

You said you were staying for 7 days. Just want to make sure you know that you get credits based on the number of NIGHTS you stay. So you may only have 6 credits.

Sounds like Rainforest Cafe will be your best bet.

We are in the hotel 7 nights, so that would be 7 credits, right?

Breakfast is always cheaper than dinners so I would narrow it down to paying out of pocket for one of the breakfasts you have. Judging from the prices I have seen, Crystal Palace or Ohana are the cheapest so I'd go for one of those two. I always want the most for my dining credits so I wouldn't want to POO for a pricey meal and use the credits for something a lot less.

I'd say Rainforest.

As others have said, pay OOP for either Rainforest Cafe or a breakfast buffet. You don't get much choice on the price of a buffet, but you can control what you order at Rainforest. Avoiding dessert or ordering an appetizer in place of a entree makes this a cheaper OOP meal
