I will not only second this but also recommend that you not forget the tops of your feet. You will note a lot of people heading back to the ship stepping gingerly because they have the choice of walking on hot pavement or putting shoes/sandals/flip-flops on over their sunburned feet.

I took these suggestions and added them to the link below with the packing lists, etc. I added some additional: don't miss the muster drill, sanitize/wash hands frequently, and complete a stateroom report when you return home.

Incorporate the deposit for a 2nd cruise into your budget. If you end up loving your first Disney cruise, it'll be easier to take advantage of onboard booking incentives since you included the deposit in your budget. If you don't rebook, no harm, no foul you can use the extra cash for something else.

My one tip I give all cruisers... Keep your looser clothing and shoes for later in the week. Inevitably you will eat a lot so that extra bit of space helps the last few nights at dinners. Also, if you feet swell at all (mine always do) the shoes won't go on as well by the end of the cruise. However it is all worth it!!!
Have a great cruise

a single best tip? hmmmmmmm........

here it is: read all the posts you can about your ship, understand as much as possible about dining rotation, show times, etc....then forget about a schedule of things to do!

Read the daily navigators and pick a couple of MUST DO's...maybe a show or the Mickey 500 (my fave)...and just go with the oceanic flow. You will make yourself crazy if you try to set a schedule, I think.....

it is a VACATION!!!!! relax....enjoy!!!

and, most of all, have a really really good time

We're just back from our first cruise - I agree with pretty much all of the tips you've gotten so far.

One I'll add if you are on the Dream of Fantasy - hit the Aquaduck at least once late in the evening. We did it at 10pm one night - there was essentially no one in line that late and the light show in the tube is much more impressive against the pitch black of the night sky.
