Which beach in Port Canaveral?

We'll be coming in a day early and staying at the Country Inn & Suites. Where is a good place to go for some beach time?

Cocoa Beach has a long stretch of beach with several beach access areas. Can't say if one section of the beach is better than another. We have stayed at the Doubletree and International Palms and used the beach in front of those hotels and we have also stayed at the 4 Points Sheraton and walked the block or two to the beach by that hotel.

There is a pier in Cocoa Beach and I believe that is a popular section of beach.

Jetty Park is just south of the port jettys and is popular because of life guards and facilities

My preference is New Smyrna. It's generally a quiet beach.

The pier as said above.

Parking is right there. But there is a fee.

We went last week and asked the hotel (Country Inn) where to go. They recommended Cherrie-something. It was free, no parking fees, and not crowded. It was just a few minutes from the hotel.

We stay at the comfort inn at cocoa beach! Takes us about 1min to hit the sand from out ocean view room! We use their park & cruise and have never had a problem.

Most likely Jetty Park.

This is the closest beach to the hotels near the port.

Cherie Down Park is just south of Jetty Park. It can be less crowed depending on season. And IIRC is free unlike Jetty Park.
Cherie Down is part of Brevard County Parks and Rec., while Jetty Park is not. I believe JP is owned by PC. ? ? ?

You can see the ships sail down and out of the channel close up at Jetty Park though.

Yes, Cherie Down! It was completely free and not crowded last week. There's also a little shower to rinse the sand off.
