My adult DS got an e-mail with a free dining PIN just this week. Except it was sent to my e-mail, addressed to his family. Oh and the last time he had a reservation in his name was 2008 ! So I'm not sure what their criteria is !

How do you know if you get a PIN in the e-mails? I get Disney e-mails on a daily basis.

The email will be from Disney Destinations and it will contain 15 digit code. If you recieve an email with only a 3 digit code, then it is only a public offer and not one of the unique pin codes.

So I just got off the phone with Allen in guest relations and was told in many different ways "NO". I was advised that there is absolutely no way that FD could be applied without a pin, even though people here claim they have. He also said that they do not know ahead of time when PINs will be sent out or when/if GP will be made available. He pretty much said that anybody who has received FD had to have a PIN & if they didn't and received FD they are lying because the system will not allow it.

I don't think you're lying, but I so agree with what the CM said, I think people that did get it must have had a PIN that was somehow overlooked or something. Has anyone who did get it have a CM actually say, "you don't have a PIN but I'm giving it to you anyway!"???

I don't think you are lying at all. The CM I spoke with was just rude from the very beginning of the call. I had asked him if there was anyway as i had heard some people have & he is the one that said people were lying. He didn't even ask my name or anything. I was transferred to guest relations to speak with him.

There have been several reports of people being given FD without having their own PIN, and not only here on the Dis. There must be certain CMs that have authorization to use codes not directly tied to that particular caller. I would never assume anyone was lying. There are too many reports for this not to be happening. Looking back at my own call, the CM never specifically said I had one, but he asked if I had gotten one in the mail. I had not and I still haven't gotten one, so maybe it wasn't really there. No way of really knowing, I guess.

Did the CM say those exact words??? NO

Did she check every name on our reservation and say "sorry, no PIN"??? YES

She even told us to keep calling back to check for a PIN but before the call was over she told us that she could "give" us free dining.

The one I talked to did! She told me she had a special Code she could use and that I did NOT have a PIN attached to me. I didnt end up getting FD cause it wasn't available where I was booked and in not changing resorts.

I am sorry but yes we did call. Yes we did get FD without a pin. Sorry if they are telling you something different, but do we have anything to prove by lying on this forum? Not at all. Yes we got FD by just calling in. Not lying, no reason to lie. I am sorry that some CM's say different things, but please do not call us liars. Yes we did get it by just calling. Just got extremely lucky that day! Can't wait to get there and enjoy. Good luck to you, but again do not call us liars.

It's not that serious.


People's pins direct the booking CMs to the free dining pkg code. There are tons of new CMs coming in constantly. It's very easy for them to apply it on accident thinking its a broad offer and not understanding. Once it's done Disney won't take it away. Most know better, but it happens.

When they look you up or your reservation it will show them if you have a pin code so it's also entirely possible they don't ask you for the pin. They already see it.

It's nothing to count on, but it certainly happens and it won't be done on purpose as the CM will be reprimanded.

As I previously stated to another poster, I was not calling anyone a liar, I said Guest Relations said people are lying. I made that exact point to Allen, why would multiple people lie & his response was anything read on a non Disney forum does not make it true & I said I was well aware of this but it wouldn't make sense for multiple people to say it.

Booked Flights on the Off Chance

I know I will not be able to go to WDW this year unless they offer a discount or Free Dining. I have enough Southwest Points for the trip so I went ahead and booked out flights. Now I just need Disney to release some sort of promotion for October 26th - 31st.

I have started calling everyday to see if I might be one of the luck ones to get a pin.

Fingers crossed.
