BUT, DCL is telling everyone no more over-the-door organizers, so that won't work.

Hmmm. My thinking is hat this would be fine. You are not using the metal hooks so there can't be any damage done. I think it's a great solution. We hung ours in the closet but it was not that accessible due to "someone's many outfits already in there. What does anyone else think?

Does anyone know where to find the strong heavy duty magnetic hooks? Maybe Bed, Bath & Beyond? I was thinking, to prevent scratching the door, to put a thin layer of tissue paper or thin fabric (such as gauze). Would the magnets still work?

I have purchased sturdy magnetic hooks at Target, Walmart, Office Depot, OfficeMax, etc. Haven't used them on DCL doors for hanging an organizer, though.

Rather than an organizer, we use the hooks directly to hold navigators, lanyards, etc.

Or does anyone know approximately how far apart those hooks are?

We're a family of 5 - mom, dad and 3 girls, so the organizer with clear small pockets is a huge bonus. I'm trying to work out if the organizer will hang on the hooks, if I should run a ribbon through the grommets to hang it on the bathroom door hook, or just hang it in the closet (not ideal because of the movement getting things in and out).
I'd be interested in seeing these hooks, too.

I forgot to take a picture, but the three knobs on the wall of the family staterooms were perfectly positioned for the three holes in our door organizer- except the grommets for our organizer were too small for the knobs. The knobs at the largest point are roughly the diameter of a nickel. Thankfully I had brought a ribbon just for that purpose, so I was able to hang it on the wall.

There is good space in the shower (4 shelves, 3 with a bar to stop things falling out and a flat surface also) and decent space above the counters- but the organizer was great for things like sunscreen, aloe, hair stuff, medications, sunglasses and other random little small stuff.

Dress Barn is currently selling a hanger style organizer for $20.00. I think I may pick that up. One side has larger pockets that close with a zipper and the other side has smaller pockets.......

My Mom recently bought me this:

Do you think it will work on the ship?

No room assinment yet, but we're 7A GTY on the Dream.

I improvised my over the door hanger by taking off the hooks and tying the hanger to a wood dowel and then loop a wire. You can see the finished product below as we hung in the bathroom on the Fantasy last week.

It won't work IN the shower. There's no rod. Depending on the Velcro straps you may be able to hang it from a hook outside the bathroom.

There's no rod? Is it a door?

No, it's a curtain but it runs on a built in track in the ceiling. No rod.

Here's a close up of how the curtain is hung (at least on the classic ships)
