Is pirate night after formal night?

We plan on dressing up for both formal and pirate nights on our next cruise. I was planning on DS wearing his black pants for both but only if formal night comes first! Can anyone tell me if this is the case on a 7 night eastern Fantasy cruise? Thanks!

Formal night is typically the first sea day (night 2 in most cases). And Pirate night is typically around night 4.

Can we wear pirate costumes to dinner, or have to change into pirate wear after dining?

No need to change. Be a pirate all night long.
