V&A vs. TOS

DH & I have gone to F&W several times, but never to Taste of Senses. Our plan was to spend Saturday night at TOS this Oct. However, after reading review of last year's TOS on Disney Food blog, we are not sure that small plates/non assigned seating is better than a meal at V&A. We have enjoyed V&A in the past, but haven't gone lately due to need to pack dressier attire. Any thoughts from DISers who have experienced both? Thanks

Are you thinking of the Food & Wine Festival Party for the Senses held on select Saturday nights during the festival?

As the PP said, I think you mean the Party for the Senses. FWIW, you can buy a reserved seat ticket for $180 vs. the $145 general admission or you can splurge on a reserved seat in the Wine View Lounge for $285. Guests with reserved seats also get early admission and a specialty cocktail also is included.

We did V&A when we went to F&WF last year and will be doing the PFTS this year instead. It will be a completely different experience but we are looking forward to it all the same.

Sorry

I did mean PFTS. Not quite sure where TOS came from.
We thought about the upgrade because the lack of assigned seating was a big turn off to us. That was the basis for comparing it to V&A

For us, an evening at V&A is far preferable to PFTS. We have done PFTS. We have even done the predecessor event -- Grand Gatherings.

However, we find that we prefer a real dinner -- as opposed to an expensive "graze" where we get a variety of foods in no particular order. We don't like having a gazpacho shooter, followed but a dessert, followed by a piece of beef, followed by a salad item, followed by another dessert, followed by fish. You get the idea. When Grand Gatherings were something like $50 per person, they were fun. Now that they have run the price for PFTS so high, we don't bother.

We cannot imagine spending money for the wine view lounge when about the same amount would get us a leisurely and romantic dinner at V&A.
