Those are my thoughts exactly. I have pretty much decided to buy 1 block of points at BCV and then another at AKV, SSR, VWL or BWV.

I now feel if I want to stay at Beach Club I am going to buy there. If not all, then perhaps 150-ish there and 150-ish at another location I like.
Just keep in mind that even though you buy BCV (for example), it won't do you any good unless you also plan and book more than 7 months in advance.

To be sure of getting NYE week at BCV, you will have to book online as soon as the 11 month window opens at 8 am Eastern

question that this triggers-

Say you book NYE week at your home resort the second you can. Can you later use that to trade for a different week of your choosing? Or does it make sense to book and rent out?

Also, how do the new fixed weeks affect your chances of getting a holiday? Anyone have any ideas?

I probably wasn't clear enough in my original post. We go one week each year and also Memorial weekend and Labor weekend each year. And then 2-3 more times when we want to go. I plan to book the week and both holiday weekends at the 11 month window each year. I figure to take what we can get the spur of the moment trips.

Perfect! I'd do the same if we lived within driving distance.

You can cancel and book something non-home if it is available at seven months out.

And if you book NYE at your home resort and decide to sell the reservation to a non-member. you will have the wrath of million sand fleas upon your body.
