What about Captain's Grille

I booked Cape May, but have been hearing bad reviews lately. We wanted to go to the BW area on evening. How is Captain's Grill? Or should we just find something DTD?

Ugh!

We ate at CG in April and it was one of our worst Disney dining experiences.

First of all, service was sloooooooooow. I'm talking 2+ hours for a meal slow (most of that waiting for food).

Second, the dishes ordered at our table were not good. Chicken noodle soup, that had neither chicken, nor noodle....more like celery soup.

Scallops that were undercooked.

A crab cake entree that costs $10 more than the appetizer because it has "potatoes", which in our case was one sliver of a potato resembling a large toenail...

Unfortunately, based on our experience, I cannot recommend this place.

I would also vote for DTD (especially Raglan Road) over Captain's Grille. The menu changed somewhat recently, but the items I had did not wow me in March. If you want to stay in the Boardwalk area, I liked Flying Fish (a bit more pricey, but miles better!).

I would also recommend Wolfgang Puck cafe in DTD. They have wide range of foods and alot of seafood if that is what you are looking for. The prices aren't bad either, and they have a full bar etc, and also a sushi bar.

I would go to the captains grill anytime, I have been there many times and have always had good service and good food, you will get all kinds of posts, pro and con for every Disney resturant on the grounds, you have to decide for yourself. Every resturant with have a bad nite, look at LeCellier, it's awful anymore, used to be the place to go, not anymore, you just hope it's not on your nite there.

We always go to Raglan Road on our last night. Awesome selection, awesome drinks, and awesome entertainment!

We've eaten at CG

twice in the last year and had wonderful meals there both times. I love seafood and my wife always orders a steak. The accommodate special requests very well.

I had the prefix one time and ordered alacarte the other and was pleased with my food both times.

We also tried Raglan Road for the first time in May and both really enjoyed our food.

Service can be slow at CG but we are never in a hurry to get anywhere so...

Just ate there last week. I had the crab cakes and they were very good and it was enough for me. DH had the chicken and left hungry. I don't think it would have been enough for me either. DS ordered the steak. It was a good size and he was satisfied. Service was good and it was nice to get away from the hectic parks.

I would stick with Cape May or go to Raglan Road. We enjoy both. If you like buffets then stick with Cape May. Otherwise Raglan Road.
