Keep or cancel Cape May?

When planning my ADRs my son asked to go back to Cape May, so I booked it for arrival night. We went in 2010 and he loved it. I have read less than favorable reviews lately though, and now I'm not sure if it is still worth going to, especially on arrival night or if I should cancel.
We are staying at BWV the first night, so going or cancelling isn't an issue either way. Not far and plenty of choices around. I should mention that my DS is the only one in our family that eats seafood (he devoured the crab legs on our last visit), but when we were last there, they had a lot of non seafood options that made everyone happy. My DH can't eat poultry either if that matters.
We are also eating with a couple friend of ours who will be vacationing at the same time. They love seafood, so I thought this would be a good fit. Any advice would be appreciated.
