As for me, I make it a point to take full advantage of the soda fountain, bringing my own 64oz insulated mug. One refill lasts the whole day!
But it would go warm after a while, or flat. Or the ice would melt and it'd be watery. Then you have to throw it out and refill and start all over again. Now if you could get cocktails in that thing THAT would be cool

Now don't you be our pouring any of that liquid gold down the sink! That would be hogging!

You will find extremely judgmental people here when you have differing views than theirs. People ask a question and evolves into they are "teaching their children to break rules" or "teaching their children to steal"! It totally baffles me how they belittle people around here. It's one of the main reasons I try not to post that much.

How can DCL handle all that soda? If you stacked 5 million cans of soda, one on top of another, the tower of soda cans would go to the moon, circle back, and end up in Orlando. Something to think about next time you go for that one extra soda on the cruise.

Sorry, but the math nerd in me feels compelled to point out that 5 million cans of soda (and obviously they're using concentrated bag-in-box product and not cans, so the point is moot) would be less than 500 miles high.

5,000,000 cans x 6 inches = 30,000,000 inches = 2,500,000 feet = 473 miles+/- (and I didn't measure a can, but they are, I believe, around 6" tall).

So it could reach the International Space Station and back to Orlando, but not the moon, which is about 239,000 miles away...

I assumed each can of soda was around 500 feet in length (recycled length of relevant aluminum wire). I will check as I might be a little off.

If DCL handed out cans of soda included in your cruise fare, I'm certain that there would be threads stating that it's "wrong" to take the cans of soda off the ship.
If they had Soda in the little tiny containers like the shampoo, consitioner and loction, I'd HOG as much as humanly possible. Just sayin.

Look... First of all, making a thread to take a shot at a different thread could probably be construed as rude and inappropriate.

Second, this thread is not an honest attempt at discussion or seeking answers to questions. At best it should be considered an off topic thread.

Third, if you cannot understand why SOME might find the attitude of "take whatever free stuff you can, stuff your pockets" as abusive of the complimentary amenities on board then there is not even any room for discussion with you.

Fourth, there is already a thread for discussing the topic which you are wasting your time and energy to mock.

Fifth and finally, I am done with this thread and will recommend it for locking.
Bye Bye, don't let the H2O hit you in the butt. Oops, did that really come out of my mouth...

I'll trade someone my free soda for their free H20 products.

Ok, if the form of the cans were changed that may be possible. I read it as stacking the cans, intact, which would be a lot shorter.

Regardless, it's a moot point as they're using concentrated syrup and not cans.

Have not tried, but I did not think you could actually stack 5 million cans on top of each other. I would think after about a million or two, they might tip over somewhere, so that is why I thought I would convert them into aluminum wire (and tie them into one another).

In addition, this may or may not be correct, but I heard that DCL actually has 80 cast members working in a room on deck 1 twenty four hours a day that open cans of soda and dump them into one gallon jugs and then put that liquid into the soda machines. So, there must be a lot of cans for them to recycle.

What about if the cans were crushed for recycling?
