Prices

Okay so I am stalking the cruise site daily to see if prices change day to day. We booked a dummy cruise for December 14 but truly want to go June or July 14... Just book it? Or have any of you saved a few bucks by checking daily for price drops?
Thanks!

It's most likely you won't see price drops. DCL prices typically rise as they cruise date gets closer. Especially the cruises in the summer would do this. You'll usually see the lowest prices on the day the itinerary was first posted.

On those cruises that aren't selling well (again, not usually the summer ones) DCL may offer last minute restricted fares. But they must be new bookings, not transferred ones. And you don't get to select your room, if you care about what room you have.

It's difficult to predict. Last summer '12 there were sales on the fantasy, this year the fantasy and dream 4 niters are booked for June and July. I'm a daily stalker also so you're not alone.

Most likely the price will go up. But if it goes down you can get the new price. I price stalk to find the cruise I want that I am willing to pay the price. Then after I book I price stalk to see if the price goes down to get a refund or upgrade.

Me, too. Sometimes I'm looking for myself...sometimes for someone else. There have been some "good prices" for summer but as someone who prefers to cruise in the off season, paying the same price for a 3 night cruise as I'm paying for my 7 night in October is hard to swallow!

4 Nights are apparently selling well this year. I haven't seen any *GT rates on them. There have been some on some 7 nights, but $5000+ isn't a bargain to me UNLESS that's the only time you can go!

If you want to sail next summer, I'd move your booking now. Prices will likely only increase between now and then and if the price does drop, just mention it to your TA or DCL (however you book) and they'll refund the difference as long as it's not a *GT.

I would definitely book now. Prices have already increased since opening day. I have a cruise booked for May 2014 and the price has gone up $500 since I booked. If you book it and by some miracle the price drops then do as a PP suggested and have your TA or DCL adjust it as long as it isn't a *GT rate.
