2nd guessing our CP res....

We have already been for bfast on our 2011 trip and thought it was ok food wise, but loved the character interaction. I just scored an 8:25 res and thought it would be great to get into the park early as well. But after reading reviews from this year on yelp, I'm not so sure I want to go anymore. Plus everything I'm reading says bfast is now $40 a person...yikes!!! Anyone been recently?

I enjoy the CP breakfast and it's always nice to get into the park early and take some pics. I don't think it's $40 for breakfast, certainly not for your kids.

I love CP breakfast food. Very delish. Its definitely not $40 for adults. Its somewhere in the $20's. But I dont have the exact figure, sorry.

Check out this link. Prices are pretty accurate to what we paid back in August.

I was there in April for lunch. Lunch was about $28. I think breakfast was in the $23 to $25 dollar range. Dinner is by far the most expensive meal there (I think it was around $36.) Meal prices do vary by season, but breakfast is never that expensive. These are adult prices, kid price was about half.

I've never been for breakfast. We've been 2x each for lunch and dinner and had great service all 4 times. The food is always fresh/ they refill quickly. Our character interaction has always been decent. I'm ready to try somewhere new, but DD is such a huge Piglet fan that we'll probably be going there for years to come.

We had breakfast there yesterday (6/14); we always have an early CP breakfast on the last day of our WDW vacations. The food was as wonderful as it as always been -- fresh, great variety. We all love the puffed french toast, I had fluffy scrambled eggs and grits with sausage, DS had Mickey waffles, DH had smoked salmon, etc. etc. Service for coffee and juice was speedy and attentive, characters were great as always, and getting the jump on rope drop at FantasyLand enabled us to do 6 attractions within our first hour in the park on what would be a very, very crowded day.

I'm not sure what people are expecting, but I've kind of stopped taking the extreme bad reviews seriously anymore. Don't hesitate to go here -- and we were on the dining plan but I believe the adult charge was $27.

Josh posted a pic from 6/13/13 of the Crystal Palace sign with prices.
As PP mentioned the breakfast is $27.

If anyone is wondering the current prices are:
Adult:
Breakfast $26.99
Lunch $28.99
Dinner $40.99

Child (3-9):
Breakfast $14.99
Lunch $15.99
Dinner $19.99

There's a big jump from lunch to dinner! If you're not on the dining plan and want to go, I would definitely pick lunch over dinner. (or the before park breakfast ADR, of course)

We were there in January and enjoyed it as always. My husband has done extensive pricing comparisons of WDW meals and we have always thought CP was good value. There are days when I would pay $40 for a piece of the puffed French toast alone, not to mention the incalculable value of early park admission.

One thing I've learned from the Dis is not to read reviews of WDW places from non-Disney sites (like Yelp or TripAdvisor). If I want the scoop on a place, or an idea of whether I'll like it, I read here (or EasyWDW, AllEars, etc.). Without looking, I'm guessing at least some of the negatives on the non-Disney sites are related to "sticker shock" - "I can go to my local breakfast buffet for $5.99 and Kids Eat Free!"

I agree with this. I still enjoy reading any review. But always remember if they haven't specifically said how they feel about pricing, some people set their expectations based on pricing. And just because the price is high does not mean the food quality is. Not that the food is bad or inedible, just if you paid 20.00 for fired chicken back home you are probably getting certified organic/free range that came in fresh that day. At Disney you are probably getting something closer to what you would get at Applebees. And plenty of people like Applebees and if they had paid Applebees prices they might not have cared. But then there are also people who won't eat Applebees's. They might hate on it just because they only eat out at higher quality venues. (I am not saying all Disney eateries are comaparable to Applebes, several are better, it is just an example.)

I only take serious reviews that mention other eateries and how they felt about those. Or fully detail their complaints. Reviews that say, "Ate her last week, it was terrible, we won't be back, etc," are not helpful.

We love the character interaction at CP. I would definitely go especially to get into the park early.

1) We don't think it is worth the price, any more.
2) WDW has begun to price itself too high.
