Breakfast at Islands, before early entry

Staying one night at RPR in August to utilize the benefits of EPass and early entry. But that morning I was thinking about doing breakfast at Islands Dining Room. But with a 7 am opening, and wanting to be in line at IOA at 7:45 is this really possible. I really do hate to spend good money and rush through a breakfast, but on the other hand my husband must have more to eat than just a muffin or pastry!! And I see no other options.

if you do the breakfast buffet, you will be out quicker.

if you order from the menu, can't say if you will be out of the restaurant by 7:30.

i do eat there before early entry but opening EE when i go is 8:00.

look at the menu, it is online.
compare the prices of the buffet to what you might order if you go with the menu.

i come out ahead by doing the buffet as i only want a sampling of the fruits and pastries with an order of eggs.

walk to ioa instead of the water taxi if you are rushed for time after you are done eating.

How much is the buffet, adult and child?

And how long does it take to walk/ride a boat to IOA?

Do they open the gates at 8 for EE or a little early?

Thanks!!!!!!

Buffet is up to:

Adult $20
Child $12

To walk from RPR it's about 5-8 minutes on speed. They sometimes open a few minutes early. There is a separate area for EE that you will need to show your room key to get in line.

If it was me I would not do buffet on early entry as I would not want to clock watch with spending that type of money.

Now what morning of the one night are you doing EE?

You can go do EE and go back to Islands for breakfast. If you are doing EE on checkout day you need to checkout by 11 am so this might work. Go to EE, then back to RPR, eat a nice breakfast, pack up, give luggage to star service, and then return to parks for the rest of the day.

Ya that is more money than I want to spend for a breakfast there that morning.
I was thinking about printing off the menu and letting my family look at it so we will know exactly what we what off of the a la carte part. That way we can order immediately when we get there, perphaps? And then leave at 7:45, would that work well?

Does the Orchid Lounge offer anything other that a muffin and such?

If early entry is at 8am, they usually start letting people in 15-20 mins BEFORE that..I personally wouldn't do a sitdown breakfast.I would grab a muffin or bagel and hit early entry and than stop early for lunch..If the restaurant opens at 7am you are going to be rushing and INHALING that food in order to get to the gates of IOA for early entry

i'm onsite at rph for 11 nights so i vary where i eat .......

i do enjoy the orchid lounge.
opens at 6:00 every morning.
closes at 11:00 except on weekends they close at noon.

if i can remember correctly, items that i have seen there are:
cereal, muffins, bagels/cream cheese, pop tarts, different juices, milks, teas, some breakfast type sandwiches, toast/jellies/jam, coffee, fruit, etc.

free coffee refill if you save your cup.

maybe check out damo's sticky for menus/foods at the darkside.
i believe orchid is listed there.

i did do the menu order once last year.
2 eggs, toast and coffee was maybe $12.
i no longer have the receipt so just guessing.

print off the menu so it can expedite your family ordering.
that will save time and you can be out of there 7:45.

go to the desk in the lobby, have your name written down and wait for the Island staff to come seat you in the restaurant.

if you have the AP, show it and you will get a 10% discount off your bill prior to tax.

i'm not a fan at all of the menu after breakfast period.
it changed a few years back and it's not my thing.
i tried it twice and won't be back for it until the menu changes again.

I assume that you are doing EE at IOA for Harry Potter. May I suggest that instead of having breakfast at Islands at RPR, schedule breakfast at Three Broomsticks (I believe only avialable either by purchasing a package or staying on property). Another option is grabbing a quick breakfast sandwich at Croissant Moon Bakery inside IOA, or one of the Citywalk restaurants (Pastamore's Market Cafe or Whopper Bar).

Last year we grabbed breakfast at Croissant moon and pastamore. Both worked great and we were there to be let in. Although, i will say, everyone always says they open 15-20 min early, and when we were there, it was 8:00 on the dot. both days.

For the last couple of years we've gone into Harry Potter with the early entry and then gone on the 2 main rides there a couple of times each before the park opens properly and starts to fill.

We've then gone for breakfast at the 3 Broomsticks and not had to queue or anything - when we were ready. This has been in the height of July so I don't think youll have any problems.

We did the early entry two days, rode Harry Potter first and then had breakfast at Three Broomsticks. We were able to go right in with no reservations. They asked if we had one, we said no and we went right in. My daughter and I actually shared the American Breakfast as we are not big breakfast eaters. We had the butter beer with it and also had the frozen butter beer which we paid separate for. We like the frozen better.
