January 4, Galveston

Anyone looking at the last trip out of Galveston, January 4 on the wonder? Think the prices will go up or down?

We were booked on that cruise, but recently changed to the Magic. Since we booked it, that cruise has only gone up in price. We booked it onboard last February...in fact, the price went up between the time we left for our cruise until the time we booked onboard. We couldn't get any connecting oceanview rooms. If you want to get on that cruise, I don't think the prices will go down.

It has doubled in price since we booked about three months ago. When you look now for a family of 5, there are no cabins available. I'd say it will definitely go up and probably sell out.

I'm in the Walt suite that "last sailing out of Galveston" for our 10th anniversary and DDs 5th birthday. Basically, no availability is showing in verandah or concierge for a family of four at this point.
We booked opening day and the price has gone up a lot since then. Actually, it jumped a lot around February when they showed that DCL wouldn't be back to Texas for the rest of 2014. And it's very nearly still in the school break holiday.
You might get lucky.
Or you might just miss the boat, so to speak.

I think it's hard to say. I would have thought the last Magic cruise out of Galveston in May with the Castaway Cay, WDW and Key West itinerary would have sold out. Instead they were offering military rates and apparently CM rates (we saw lots of CMs with their families).

You had to miss six days of school for those. That's a hard sell when the public schools are punitive about absences in Texas. (We went on the same itinerary in April. Thank God for private school.)
I don't know. We'll see.

We are on the Jan 4 cruise. We booked it on board during our cruise in Feb. and a few weeks later we wanted to see about adding some of our kids to go with us and noticed we couldn't and also decided to check out what the current price was for what we had booked and the price went up a lot.

I hope you are able to work something out

Sorry to See DCL leave Galveston.

We were on Feb 9 6 day first cruise great time. Sitting outside WDW as i type this. 11hour drive over 12 and lost hour coming to FL. I live in La. 5 hours of less from Galveston, easy to get to, park, board, disembark, drive home. Can only hope for NO 2015.

Not looking forward to drive May 2014 for 7 day Fantasy Trip.
