I know the laws for cow hormones etc. in the States are wayyyy more lenient than they are in Canada. Perhaps her sensitivity is to an obscure milk "ingredient" found in US dairy products that wouldn't be in Canadian dairy

That's so unfortunate to hear though, she must have been so frustrated to have that happen at Disney

Just wanted to share a few notes from our trip last week. . .

Within a few days of us being there, the 50s Prime Time Cafe changed their vegetarian spaghetti and "meat" sauce to a vegetarian lasagna. Zucchini strips are used instead of noodles. Soy crumbles, a red pepper like sauce. . .it was pretty decent. . .but not as good as the veggie lasagna at Pop Century. . .

Thought the stone pie at Rose & Crown was really good. . .and huge?!? My husband and I ordered the potato & leek soup (tell them you are vegetarian so they know to leave the crumbled bacon off the top!)-----then we shared the cheese plate with accompaniments (loved the bleu!). We ordered one entree of the stone pie which came with watercress greens along side----cut in two, we still had a sizeable wedge of this incredibly tall creation! We also got a side of chips. . .well. . .just because we could! (Seated outside in the sunshine with a Strongbow Cider made it extra nice) This was one of my most favorite meals of the trip. . .

So. . .just wanted to share about the new entree at 50s Prime. . .and changes at Pop Century. . .

Sad to hear they replaced the spaghetti at Prime Time. Enjoyed it on the last trip. The lasagna doesn't so bad so may have to give it a go.

I second your recommendation of the Stone Pie at Rosé & Crown and the chips are a must have too. My favorite meal when I was there in January. And some nice beers to go with.

Thanks for the updates.

Some quick news for my fellow vegans - we just came back from a quick Memorial Day Weekend trip, and we enjoyed a few noteworthy meals I wanted to pass along..........

We ate at Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch on 5/27 and had their potato quinoa veggie burger. It was really, really good! All four of us, even my picky youngest DD loved it. It is quite large and easy to share with another person. The sweet potato fries that come with it are amazing. So so nice to have a completely vegan meal "as-is" right off the menu with no special ordering required!

We also had breakfast at Kona. After informing the waitress that we are vegan, the chef in charge of special diets came out to talk to us. He was so friendly and warm. He has a gluten-free, dairy-free baking mix he uses for waffles and pancakes, so he was able to make mickey waffles for my youngest DD, and fresh blueberry pancakes for my older DD. SO YUMMY!! No one would ever know these were vegan pancakes. So a big shout out to Kona for their veg-friendliness!!

Has anyone had a good experience at the Luau at the Poly? Vegan options available? I am debating whether or not its worth the price if we can't eat anything. Any insight would be great....thank you

Here's a pic I took for the live thread back in March.:

The menu description is "Vegetable Stone Pie with mushrooms, onions, spinach, cheddar cheese and a side salad." I don't know why but I was expecting more of a pot pie dish, so this surprised me. It was good, but huge.

Thanks for the link to the photo. I think I'll give it a try on our next trip now that I have some idea what it is!

Ooh, that looks tasty. They probably call it a pie because of weirdness over the word "quiche". I think I might have found a table service in Epcot! Thank you!

I'm very sorry if this has already been mentioned but I'm unable to read back all the pages.

Is there a vegetarian snack list anywhere?
Just to print out and take with me?

Thank you.

As long as you go through special diets, you should be fine. I went as a vegetarian and was given a few options for my meal ahead of time and was able to discuss any issues with ingredients. Best of luck and enjoy!

I know it was mentioned over a month ago, but I looked at the ingredients list for lefou's brew at Gaston's Tavern, and no gelatin! just loves of artificial flavoring and sugar. Looked vegan from what I could tell. No gelatin!

Just got back from a couple days in the world, and took part in a few good vegan and vegetarian meals! I had booked le cellier because it would make my boyfriend's LIFE if I did. I ended up having to concoct something insane there out of quinoa. None of their pastas are vegan if anyone is wondering. My meal was small but what I had them make was EXCELLENT! Red quinoa with asparagus, black truffle oil, grilled peaches and trumpet mushrooms. I practically licked the bowl clean!

Also I haven't seen anyone mention it here, but Beaches and Cream has an excellent vegetarian option of a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato bisque. The sandwich is not your regular ol' grilled cheese though, it has a seven cheese blend that makes it practically gourmet!

Other than those, I haven't seen any real changes in offerings other than what has been reported here. Kind of wish that since Food and Wine and sunshine seasons has gardein, that they would switch their awful garden burgers to gardein burgers

Thanks for all the recent info! We skipped 2013, but will be going back in 2014. In 2012, we had a great week of meals (with 3 omnivores and 2 vegans with food allergies). I blogged it here if anyone wants to check it out - http://theveganasana.com/eating-vega...und-the-world/.

So, I'm pleased to see the bits of information here about changes!
Right now, we have ADRs at Ohana, R&C, LTT, BoG (sort of), 50s Prime Time, and 1900 Park. I'm thinking about trying to figure out a way to add Saana.

Anything really amazing recently for vegans that I'm missing?
