If the FD does extend and goes public- how would I find out about it in order to be on the phone and get my reservation modified before it gets booked?

Black will have that info before it goes public. Subscribe to this thread so you will know ahead of time.

I have been following these threads for awhile but haven't posted in them much. I have a quick question. My Aunt got a Pin in the mail on Saturday. If she went with us we could use the Pin but what would happen if she couldn't make I
the trip for some reason?

When there is leak, these boards will go CRAZY! And then, we will (hopefully) have time to prepare everyone for when it goes "live" and get ya through the process of that day, too!

Geeze, this is stressing me out! We just booked yesterday for 8 days (our first trip ever) and so I am a bit overwhelmed by it all.
I'm pretty sure I dreamt of FD last night

The last free dining promo was leaked in MANY places that morning. It was here, it was on a few other sites as well. In fact, I even found one leak that was a full hour before it was posted anywhere on the Dis.

So, no need to rely on any one person for the leaks, because there are LOTS of people out there with sources of information, and it all usually goes down the same morning, usually two weeks in advance.

By the time the actual release date rolls around, it is scattered all over the net and anyone looking for it will easily find it. The second I hear something I will post it on the first post of the thread. So just keep an eye out.

Honestly, the only real thing left to leak is the release date...which is really the minor thing. I know everyone wants to know when it's released, but the most important thing are the offered dates of travel, which is looking fairly solid at the moment. The release date is inconsequential, as everyone will know about it by the time it rolls around anyway. The travel dates are most important, as that's what people need to plan for in advance...as opposed to the release date where someone just picks up the phone. If you don't know when you're traveling, it's kinda hard to make a reservation.

Thank you Joe.
We are checking in on October 14th and checking out the 19th. I am assuming that we'd be eligible for free dinning.

Your check in date has to be eligible. If it follows the pin that's out you would have to arrive on Oct 18 in order to get free dining. Are your dates flexible?

Assuming your check in date is in the date range for the FD offer, you should be eligible. The usual minimum requirements are at least a 3-night stay and 2-day park tickets for your magic your way package. I would have a backup resort and/or room type choice just in case the one you booked doesn't have FD availability when you call to have the FD discount applied. Good luck!!

Thanks. I have never needed to use the VISA offer before as they have been public by the time we decided to go. Lets hope to hear in July - this wait is painful.

It is around $18+change for adults per day and $3+ change for 9 and under per day.

I don't want to leave you out, but that might be a question you'll have to call and ask Disney. Officially, they usually require the person with PIN to be present at check-in, however, I am sure there are always "special" circumstances that arise.
