Number of beds a gamble?

Hi! I'm running my first ever half marathon at the Wine and Dine in November. My DH is coming as the cheer squad, and another couple is running with me. The 4 of us are splitting a room at the BC. We booked with MEI and they made the reso as 2 adults, 2 kids. (I don't know why, I told them 4 adults - I guess to save $?) I also made a reso directly thru RunDisney and it was $260 MORE, so I switched to the MEI reservation.

Question: Do I need to get them to fix it to 4 adults? I'm worried we'll get there Thursday night and they'll tell us "Sorry! All we have is a king and a day bed!" I like the other couple, but not enough to share a bed with them! Or let DH!

You will get two beds, no matter whether it is one or the other, but you will need to change it to 4 adults, because there is a additional charge fee for each adult over double occupancy.

It may be construed as you were trying to save the addl. adult fee by the booking the way it was done. It was probably an honest mistake on their part, but IMHO you do need to fix it.

Thanks! But if I don't change it, what would happen? Anything?

When you arrive you would be switched to 4 adults and billed the extra charges for the 2 extra adults over double occupancy.

Is it a room only reservation? I guess it would be more of a factor if you had tix and/or dining plan. If you left it alone, I guess you'd just run the risk of them calling you out on it in which case you'd be subject to the additional adult charges also. Also, when I worked at a hotel, houskeeping stocked the rooms according to the guest numbers for toiletries, towels, etc. If kids were going to be in the room, they would include less than if it were four adults. Not a huge deal.

It is room only, so that's why I wondered. Now it's just a moral dilemma! I guess I'll get the travel company to make the adjustment for me. Thanks for the help!

Congratulations on running the Wine and Dine as your first half marathon. I ran it last year and stayed at the Beach Club. The Beach Club is a good choice as it is the closest hotel to the finish line. Instead of getting on a runDisney bus to take you back to your hotel, the Beach Club is a short walk from the finish line party at Epcot. That's a real plus at three in the morning.

Happy running!

The only problem I could see is if you need the room key for your ticket or to show for emh. Theirs would say child and would be a problem. I had my adult son and my future son in law join my daughter and I at the last minute for my birthday in March and they just stayed in my room with us for a single night. We're all annual passholders so we didn't need our tickets attached to room keys. I left their names at the front desk for them to get a day pass key so they could get in the room since we were in the parks and not certain what time they'd arrive. They didn't have had the ability to do emh but that wasn't an issue for that night anyway and I didn't get any additional charges.
