Dream 4D vs 4E

I just got off the dream and rebooked. Yeah!!! We stayed in a 5D and loved it. We're going with an additional person next time so I asked about a bigger room. The lady recommended a 4D and I booked. Now that I'm back and looking at the website it looks like a 4E is the better deal.

Is it right that the 4E is the same size room as the other category 4's? Website says 299 sq ft.

Am I reading it right that the only difference between the size of 4D & 4E is deck 6 vs 5 and the 4E has a bigger balcony?

And the 4E is cheaper. Why is that? Is it because its on a lower deck?

When booking it tells me that the 4E's are on the 5th deck but I can't seem to locate that category on the map I'm looking at. What am I missing?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The 4Es are actually the same size as a 5. The 299 sq ft includes the balcony. They are all on deck 5.

The balconies are bigger and I love the 4Es, but there are only 2 of us so the room size isn't a big deal. The 4Es also do not have the round shower like the other category 4s, it has the rectangle one.

That makes sense. Extra square footage is balcony, not room. Problem solved. We'll stick with the 4D. Thanks!

The 4E stateroom size is actually the size of a CAT 5 room -- the big difference is the size of the verandah which is much larger than the standard size. So, if you're looking for a room larger than the CAT 5 you had been in - then you need to book a CAT 4D or higher.

Here's a link to the DCL website (deck plans for Fantasy) - look at Deck 5 (you'll probably need to zoom in) - the CAT 4E rooms are those shaded in the lighter blue (almost lilac).
