? Birthday on Board

A member of our party will be celebrating a birthday while on board. Will they get a cake or something special at dinner or is that something I have to pre-arrange?

You or your TA will need to contact DCL to have it noted on your reservation. It is a good idea to confirm with your head server the first evening at dinner also. They will provide an individual desert for the person and sing to them.

I have celebrated my b'day on board twice. You don't really get any extra pixie dust on DCL like you do at WDW....you do get the b'day dessert on your actual b'day and the servers do sing, but that's it.

I found the CM's of the cruise didn't say Happy Birthday to me while wearing my pin etc. like they do at WDW. At WDW if you wear the b'day pin, you usually get pixie dust sprinkled throughout your trip, (usually, not always). But the cruise is entirely different.

I have read other guests have found this as well.

You can order in-room celebrations like flowers etc from DCL or other florists for the birthday recipient though to make it extra special though.

We have cruised for a honeymoon, birthday, and anniversary. Each time we were given pins and had CMs constantly wishing us a happy whatever-we-were-celebrating. CMs have also gave us Magical Moments certificates (one for my DD's birthday was covered in glitter). One stateroom host made a birthday card and left it on our bed at turndown. Every meal at Palo ended with a celebration plate, even if we ate there twice. Twice the Shutters photographers have given us a package of stock photos. This is all in addition to the special dessert and singing at dinner.
