Raglan Road dinner

I was hoping I could get a little insight as to what's good at Raglan Road for dinner? My fiancé and I are eating there in August and the menu looks overwhelming and huge!

If you've eaten there, what's good? Help a girl out

We ate there 2 years ago..just DH and me. I do not remember the menus being huge. I know we had a pint. And he had Shepard's Pie. I can not remember what I had. I remember we went about 6p...busy...fun....Irish Step Dancers performed. We enjoyed the food. We would definitely go back.

I will take a quick look at the menu and see if it triggers my food memory. I know we had an appetizer.

Raglan Road is a huge must do for us! I have never had a bad appetizer their but the scallops and the Heaven on Earth Ribs are exceptional! Also, I've had the risotto and the chowder and they are good not great. Sod the Stew is amazing though! Fantasitic. My dear BFF sticks with the Pie in the Sky. I've had a bite or two and its totally delicious as well. Have a Great Time!

The ribs are awesome! I also like their little sausages on forks, don't remember what they are called. Their fish and chips are my oldest DS's must have and so it the Ger's bread pudding. HEAVEN in a cup with the sauces. Have fun!

I had some sort of steak that was awesome. I hate bread pudding normally, but with some encouragement from our waiter I ordered the bread and butter bread pudding. It was awesome.

We both love the bread pudding! My fiance even loves it and he never eats dessert because he is usually a health nut. He had the sheppard's pie last time and it was pretty darn good and I had the braised beef with horseradish mashed potatoes with carrots and parsnips. I thought it was good, but would have preferred the roasted veggies to be cooked a little bit more.
From now on, we will probably split an entree such as the sheppard's pie so we can each get our own bread pudding because I am not sharing mine! Haven't tried the bangers and booz or the Lambo Italian but they look pretty good too! 265 days until my next bite! yahoo!

We eat at Raglan Road every trip. We love the Dalkey Duo for an appetizer. We have tried a few different entrees. The Serious Steak was good. Fish n Chips are good. Shepherd's Pie was good. Sod... The Stew wasn't too bad either. My wife eats the desserts so I can't really give info on that but she has never complained. I know she usually has me get Strawberry and Apple Crumble and she gets the Dunbrody Kiss. We always get the Deluxe Dining plan so that's why we get the appetizer, entree, and dessert. Really it's up to you on what your tastes are.

This is our traditional first night restaurant, it is so so good! I loved the shephard's pie and DF gets the steak with mashed potatoes and onion straws and he loves it! The bread pudding is very good and DF swears by the Dunbrody Kiss, it was delicious!

We went a couple of years ago and I remember we LOVED the appies and dessert (bread pudding is amazing) but all of us found our entrees to be just OK...if you're not on the dining plan you may consider ordering appies an desserts to share.

I can't tell you what to order, because the only thing we would even consider reordering is the bread pudding. I suggest adding the sauce to the pudding slowly to see how much you like. Going by what I read here I dumped it all in the pudding. It was so sweet it wasn't edible. If we ever return, we'd try it again, but not dump all the sauce in at once.

Here's what I wouldn't order:

Fish & Chips - My DH loves fish & chips & orders them any time they're offered. He said the fish was so soggy he couldn't eat it. That's amazing, because my DH can eat anything.

Appetizer D’Lirrah – Our Dalkey duo, Scallop forrest, Heaven on Earth & Nom Nom Wings - My DS & I ordered this on a different visit & had the same problem. We thought the batter was too soggy to be enjoyable. Many people seem to love the scallops & sausages. Either we've been really unlucky, or we have a different opinion on what a good batter should taste like. We did eat the wings & ribs.

It's not bleedin' Chowder!
- This was okay, but it's not something I'd order again.

I've also ordered a dessert sampler that wasn't memorable in the least. I do remember thinking the cupcake wasn't as good as my local grocery stores.

The other things we've ordered are no longer on the menu or have been changed. That's a good thing.

Now you know what not to order. I've heard really good things about the ribs. If we ever get dragged here again, I'll try those or order a few appetizers that I haven't tried. All that said, I do hope your experiences are much better than ours have been.
