I always tip 1 - 2 dollars per bag, minimum of $5. From everything I've read, I think that's probably a fairly standard amount at just about any hotel, Disney or otherwise.

$1-$2 per bag but we don't do the minimum of $5. When I'm alone I only have 1 carryon bag & usually give $2 for taking that for me.

I do $3 for the first bag and $1 for each additional bag.

$5 for showing up on time and the first 2 bags, $1 extra per bag or box after that. If in doubt, over tip.

Five bucks is plenty for moving your bags.Unless you have lots of money to spend then give them a 20 spot.

It depends on when we are there. At Christmas time I always tip 2 per bag, 3 for oversized/over weight, and an extra 5 for all of the little things (think cosmetic bag that wouldn't fit in suitcase, carton of soda, DD's stuffed animals)
One year the bell hop walked out with 50.

During regular season I tip 2 per bag regardless and I carry my own "little things" or leave them in the car to get later.

I just got back from a short, but wonderful trip for the last Star Wars Weekend. We stayed at the CBR and only had two carry on sized bags for the bell hop to pick up in the morning. We tipped him a few bucks and he took our bags back for storage while we went to the parks. We came back in the afternoon to catch our Magical Express to the airport, and I gave our bags claim ticket to the bellhop who promptly retrieved our bags. I tried to tip her a couple of dollars, but she said that she isn't allowed to accept gratuities. I found that odd. Has anyone else had a similar (or opposite) experience? Anyone know the official policy?

I like on the tipping threads how the amounts always increase as more people comment. Bell hops and house keepers must all be millionaires..

$1-$2 per bag is industry standard. I see a PP above said something to the effect of $5 is plenty to move bags? Well, many don't know that bellmen are paid below minimum wage just as servers are. They make their money in tips. The bellmen load up and lug my heavy luggage around, and keep it safe while its not in my room. $2 per bag is average and what I usually give, and I think well warranted.
