Ticket Prices..when do they usually increase?

We are going June 16-22 of this year...we have room only reservation and was just going to purchase 5 day theme park tickets when I checked in. Does anyone know approximately when ticket price increases have been announced? If an increase takes place prior to our trip I will purchase in advance from UCT.

Early June last year, but could be anytime. We'll usually hear on a Friday and the increase goes into effect two days later on Sunday.

1) Usually just before August or first week of August.
2) But, like mesaboy2 said, last year it was in June.
3) Some years, it is twice per year.
4) The only person that knows is Lamont Cranston. *

* Or call 867-5309, and ask for Jenny.

5) Depends when Universal raises their ticket prices as Disney closely follows.

If you aren't doing ddp, why not get your tickets from UT? I've used them a number of times, and couldn't be happier. Just be sure to get the mousesaver newsletter link so you get the extra discount.

Do they definitely increase sometime over the summer? We're not going until February and will be buying tix through AAA. If I can buy them in advance to save, then I would.

No idea. But I'd say the odds of a price increase between now and February are extremely high.

take a look at undercover tourist.. I just bought ours and saved around $100 over disney (7 day park hoppers for 2a/2k). we rented dvc points this time for our room and used UT with the mousesavers link for tickets. Received them 3 days after I ordered.

Not necessarily. Most years Disney is the first one when it comes to price changes, with Universal following, then Sea World. A few times Universal has gone first, and one time Sea World actually went first. The last time Universal went first, Disney upped them by a dollar, and Universal raised theirs again to match, so Universal had two changes in the space of maybe a month. However, Universal doesn't always raise the prices on all their products - so even though they may match Disney on the one day, some years their multi day tickets didn't change. As a Disney AP holder, I wish Disney would take a similar path every once in a while. . . .

It's always interesting to see who will pull the trigger first when it comes to price changes, and how the other parks react when they do.

For many years, the price change was at the beginning of the year, which makes sense considering the annual price changes on resorts as well. I think the introduction of the MYW tickets was the last time it happened in January. If I remember correctly, that may have also been the year of the double price change - the one in January and then one in August the same year. Then it was in August for many years, but as previously mentioned, it came in June last year.

I think it will come whenever they need the info to begin planning the packaged rates for the following year. First the tickets will go up, then the higher resort rates will be announced, and then the booking process will begin. It could be next weekend, or it could be a couple months yet - no one here knows for sure. I would say I'm pretty confident that they will go up before my AP expires in November.

Why not

buy your tickets now? You can save a little money by buying from an authorized Disney ticket seller and not have to worry about the price increase.
