Looking for info and opinions on Hilton and/or Waldorf

Hi

Due to the high room rates at the WDW resorts over my kids' spring break I am looking at other options. My husband is a Diamond member with Hilton and we have a lot of honors points. So I'm looking for info and opinions on the Hilton Bonnet Creek and/or the Waldorf. Looking at Google maps it appears both of these hotels sit behind the time share resort. Does anyone have photos? Trip reports? Any opinions or information?? We can stay at these resorts for less than what it would cost for a WDW value resort so I'm seriously considering it. Also we will have a rental car. Thanks for any help you can give!

I stay at the HBC every year since it opened. I am a Hilton gold. For kids the Hilton has a more fun pool and slide. There are photos online. Bring your own tubes for the lazy river. You will have to pay $14 a day to park at the Hilton. My family loves it there. The breakfast for Hilton gold and diamond is very good. We will stay there again this summer. The lower price and HHOnors perks are too good to pass up. The resort is beautiful

The Waldorf is very nice, while the Hilton BC is average, in my opinion. The Hilton does have a nice pool, but you can use it if you stay at the Waldorf.

We have stayed at both frequently. The standard Hilton rooms seem a bit small IMO, we prefer the Waldorf but do use the pool at Hilton. The Hilton is nice if you have kids as they dine for free. Have not stayed since they added the $25 resort fee, curious if it is added for those staying on points as I have heard conflicting reports. Yes, there is a parking fee but we use valet wherever we go anyway.

They are on the right side of the road where the timeshare and Wyndham Grand hotel is on the left. Very close to parks. If my options were Disney value or either of these I would not even consider a Disney value.

If you prefer the Hilton and have a lot of points you can book a very large parlor suite that adjoins the standard room. It has an extra bathroom, large dining area, large living room with sleeper sofa. We actually do this at both but always at the Hilton as I do think the rooms are a bit small. You can also try for an upgrade with points after booking or for a fee. We book that category because it is important to us. Service at both has been good with an edge to Waldorf. Valet was very prompt at both, better than Disney actually.

The Waldorf has become my preferred hotel. It is a gorgeous, 5-star property. After my first stay there, I decided that the WDW "Deluxe" resorts simply aren't high-end enough to warrant the prices. In fact I just booked a trip through Costco for June. My rate worked out to be about the same as staying at Disney Moderate.

I haven't stayed at the Hilton, but my friends have and they thought it was quite nice.

I'm still considering this as a possibility but for now I went ahead and booked a room at a WDW resort today. I hate paying rack rate but I'm nervous about the Hilton. The Waldorf isn't available anymore.

Hello, I wonder if anyone can tell me…. if you stay at the Waldorf, are you given the "kids eat free" privilege at the Harvest Bistro (Hilton side)? I called and the front desk said yes, but the woman was actually unsure and had to ask. I want to make sure before we go because we have 4 kids, so that would be meaningful!

Also, how long is the walk from the Waldorf rooms to the Hilton pool? Okay for little kids toting their stuff?

Where did you find the Waldorf on the Costco travel site? All I can find is Hyatt and Best Western. I'd be interested to book the Waldorf if the price was right. Was it a package?

It is the restaurant that offers kids eat free for breakfast and lunch so yes. If I remember correct it did not include dinner. The walk is Id say about the length of one block.

We stayed at the Waldorf last week and it was fabulous. Harvest Bistro is where kids eat free. We had dinner there one night and it was 2 free kids meals per paid adult entree (no matter which hotel you were staying at).

Oh and you can take a ride on the Waldorf's golf cart resort shuttle to the Hilton pool. We just walked back afterwards along the walking path outside.

I have not stayed at the Hilton but I can tell you that The Waldorf is one of the top 2 or 3 hotels in all of Orlando. They have a great golf course. I do have to admit that the pool at the Hilton is better, but it's an easy walk.

Erika, don't know if this will help but I had a neighbor go last week through the Hilton timeshare promo. They stayed at Parc Soleil. They said the property was nice, appeared new and was fairly close (especially if you'll have a car). May be worth checking out. Don't know if it'll help.

Our stay at the Waldorf was amaizing. The room was the best of any i have stayed in. The pool over at the Hilton was great, and we loved that the hotel was soooo quiet.

my only real dislikes are $25 day resort fee, and valet parking only, at another $16 a day.

Both Properties Are Fantastic

You can't go wrong with either of these properties. Bonnet Creek has a fantastic pool (GREAT lazy river) that kids will love and a nice way to end a hot day at the parks. Weekends they show movies on big screen at the pool.

What's nice is you share the amenities of both properties when you stay at either one.
