Massages at the Grand Floridian Spa

A friend is joining us on our trip and has mentioned getting a massage at the Grand Floridian Spa prior to our dinner at 1900 Park Fare that evening. For anyone who has done it does Disney do anything different than a standard massage? My wife & I were wondering what's the difference in the $135 massage at GF vs the $35 massage at a place back home. Amazingly my wife isn't very interested in it because "she could be doing FUN things!"

Surprised I haven't gotten any responses. No DISers have used the Spa at the Grand Floridian?

The spa was closed when we were there. Now that it's open, I was curious about it too!

Disney is switching over to taking over the salons; in addition Grand Floridian had been closed for refurbishment and just reopened.

I am not sure what she means by something special, but they do have some nice treatments at the more prominent spas.

Quite frankly of the three I have been to, Grand Floridian was my least favorite. Mandara at the Dolphin was my top pick with SSR as a close second. But I am fairly sure that SSR is closed for refurbishment and will re-open with new services like the GF.
