Rose and Crown closes at 8:00 pm????

I was trying to schedule dinner at the Rose and Crown so I could watch Illuminations while having dinner (I hate standing for hours to get a good view.) I'll be there in October and the latest reservation showing up online is 6:55 and the their hours for dinner are 4 to 8 pm. So no more having dinner and watching Illuminations? I've been doing this for years and I'm so upset. Guess I won't be watching Illuminations any more!

The restaurant doesn't shut down at 8...that is just the latest time they will take a reservation for.

They also won't guarantee you a table with a view of Illuminations, but they do have a viewing area outside the restaurant. You'd have to stand...but not for hours.

It seems like almost everyone who is there at 8:00 is planning to stay for IllumiNations so very few tables open up. There probably aren't enough open tables for them to offer reservations between 8:00 and 9:00.

You can keep checking online for a later reservation or try for a different night. R&C is one of the faster places for serving meals so 6:55 is a little early.

You can ask when you check in, but there's no guarantee you'll be seated on the patio with a view of IllumiNations. If you're seated inside let your server know you want to see the show and they'll take you to the viewing area adjacent to the patio that is exclusively for people dining at R&C. It has a very good view.

I've gone during holiday weekends and spend maybe 15-30 minutes at my spot and see absolutely everything. Not sure where you want or need to be to see the show
