Cooking in 2 bedroom villa

Has anyone ever done serious cooking in the full kitchens? A bunch of us will be at SSR in a 2 bedroom marathon weekend and we're thinking of carb loading one night with pasta, chicken...

Are there really enough utensils and pots to do this?

I routinely cook for my family - everything from roasting a chicken to heating a frozen pizza. They have had everything we needed except sharp knives - somehow those were always dull. I even bring my slow-cooker in my suitcase.

We have done some serious cooking in a one bedroom. My MIL has done big steaks in frying pans with baked potatoes and vegetables. The room smelled like steak for the rest of the stay. I personally wouldn't go to this extreme. We usually just do quick serve stuff. But my MIL is old school, if there is a stove and oven available, she will be cooking.

There's everything you need, however for the "bunch" of you ( how many exactly) you're going to have to cook the pasta in batches, only one big pot!

I travel 6-8, 4 of which are 16 year boys, and yes I do some serious cooking in my 2bd to feed these serious eaters! Shrimp Scampi over pasta, Bakes ziti and meat sauce! At OKW I grill chicken and steak on the outdoor grills, with microwave baked potatoes! You can also bake the chicken in the oven, I suggest you bring a few large sheets of foil to line the pan they provide for easy clean-up!

Sounds like a blast!

When we do the family reunion every few years, we get a GV for the 11-13 of us and I bring my crock pot too! Nothing like coming in at the end of a full day at the parks and having dinner ready!

Slow cooked pork, meatballs and sauce, shredded beef, beef pot roast, the possibilities ar endless!

I have cooked for many years with either the four of us or more. Housekeeping will indeed help with things...but you need to check kitchen and utensils when you check in and give them a "heads up".

We did Christmas dinner for 14 of us in our two bedroom at OKW two years ago - not a problem - only thing we did was buy a foil roast pan for the turkey - kitchen has absolutely everything - we get groceries and stay for up to two weeks in a one bedroom every year

That's why we love Aulani. The villas have rice cookers. We never used it...but it was so cute sitting there... I ended up bringing precooked microwave Japanese rice (DD went through a phase where all she'd eat was plain rice)

I bring mine when we drive to WDW! And extra Plastic containers for leftovers or pre-prepping food aka: marinating.

I find they have just about everything I need except for a pizza cutter. Enjoy!
