Red face Hotels in Galveston

I need information about Galveston hotels.
Reviews, thoughts, proximity to cruise terminal...
Whether we can use Disney transportation from airport to hotel to cruise terminal if we don't book the hotel through them.

As you can see- I need HELP!!

TIA......

Harbor House. Lovely. So close we walked from the hotel to the terminal.

We stayed in the Sheraton Four Points on Seawall Blvd, which is the opposite side of the island from the docks. It was clean, the rooms were very nice and they have a little cafe in the lobby for a hot breakfast. It's walking distance from the Pleasure Pier if you're looking for something to do pre-cruise.

Also, they will let you keep your car parked there for the duration of the cruise if needed, no extra charge. You will need to take a taxi to the port from there. We didn't do that as we wanted a secured lot (we used Lighthouse parking).

Another Vote for Harbor House. It's walking distance to the port, and there is quite a bit to do near the hotel as well. Rooms were also nice. Only drawback is the breakfast isn't hot, but I don't think we need to worry about not eating enough before we board the ship. There will be plenty to eat after boarding

We stayed for one night at the Wyndham Tremont House which is about two blocks from the cruise terminal. They offer a free shuttle, just ask at check-in.

We stayed at the Hotel Galvez. It's a beautiful hotel. $17 valet for your stay and cruise. Free shuttle to the terminal.

We stayed at the Hampton inn in Texas city - it was about 20 minutes to the cruise terminal, but we saved over 100 dollars staying there as opposed to in Galveston. It was a very nice hotel.

Thanks everyone!

We took the plunge tonight and booked a room at Harbor House. They had a AAA discount that took the room down to under $95 for the night.

We asked about distance to the cruise terminal and availability of a shuttle and the pier is 5 'short' blocks away. The shuttle is available also- but doesn't start running until 11am.

Thanks again for all of your advice... we've never been to Galveston before- so this should be interesting!

I wouldn't stay anywhere else. IMO its so much less touristy on the pier side of the island than the seawall side. Walking from the hotel to the port was so convenient too. I think Gavleston is a very underrated cruise ship port.

And the Harbor House is such a nice hotel too. We paid $99 for the night as well, so I think it's a great bargain too.

I think that DH is sold on it because there's a Starbucks right across the street from the hotel..

We're staying in Texas City too but at Holiday Inn. Has great reviews and was less than half of hotels in Galveston.
